I've had this tv since 2004 or 2005 and it worked great!!.Just today morning my tv started having a red screen. when you turn it on, the colour stays normal for about 5 seconds then it goes red.And sometimes when you turn it on, it's already red. It also has light red straight lines going across at the same time. As you continue watching the red screen, the red colour slowly gets brighter and brighter. What could the problem be?
Looks like you got some convergency issues there, I would consult a local repair place like www.teexp.com put in your zip code and see if they service your area and TV.
They can also give you a estimate on how much it will cost to get it repaired.

Are you getting a soild red light and a blinking green, or both green and red blinking, that indicates your blub is toast. Time for a new lamp, I'm in the process of doing just that as mine bit the dust this morning. Up here in the great white North the blub costs $220.00. I your lucky and your down South you will pay about half that.
I've had this set since 05 and I am on my second lamp Toshiba paid for the first one not it's my turn, great set otherwise.
I have the same tv and had the same problem. I found a posting that stated to re-solder a connection on the cable for the "y" boards. I used this and my tv is perfect now. The part that needs to be re-soldered is the ribbon cables at the bottom of the tv that go from the boards straight to the screen. On the inside of this ribbon cables there are 4 small components that have "100" on them. On each end of each of these pieces, re-solder them. Since I had my tv completely apart I re-soldered all of them across the bottom. No problems now!
TV worked FINE for the past 2 yrs---this morning we woke up and the screen is totally BLACK! No sound..nothing. REmote doesn't do anything to the TV. Red light says ON unless we unplug it. Remote won't turn off the TV.
Any advise? Picture tube??
Worked great w/out any problems until we woke up today!
