Vertical rainbow stripes on my GB color

I would say that the screen is causing the lines in a gameboy colour the lines are not the same like it would be in an orginal gameboy the one with the four batteries. Lines in gameboy color are the screen issues then the whole screen would have to be replaced on the GBC then.

Have Brother MFC-495CW, and I recently changed cartridges, and used brother brand, but keep getting unable to print 36

It's not your ink. Error 36 means either the printhead carriage is unable to travel back and forth properly, or it does, but the machine can't get the proper feedback from it. It might be an easy fix, once you get the top cover off the printer section. (Start by prying the narrow covers out of the main cover, then unplug the cables under those covers.) Often it's a small scrap of paper that got into the path of the head. If so, it's probably black with ink and hard to see, but fishing it out with tweezers should fix it.
The machine keeps track of where the head is by counting nearly-microscopic stripes in a quarter-inch strip of film that runs across the printer section. That strip should be oriented vertically and sitting in a slot in the head. If it's stretched up across the top of the head instead of down in the slot, the head can't see the stripes and panics, giving the error 36. Gently lift it and drop it into the slot. If it's smeared with ink, gently clean it with a wet cotton swab.

Vertical black stripe on screen

Hi my name is Roety,
I can help you with your issue ,
The black strip is either a bad panel or part of the lower buffer board is bad. There are ribbon cables that run from the panel to the buffer it may just be a loose ribbon connector

Hi My problem is that this plastic strip has come off of something and now the ink cartridges go back and forth really hard but doesn't print anything. There are little slits on each end of the strip. One...

Hi Debbie,

If the plastic strip is about 10mm (or ~0.4 inches) and about the with of the printer, and if you look very closely the strip is striped (with tiny very think vertical lines).. .that strip is the locator strip… The ink cartridges read that strip to know where the carriage is (ie the carriage reads/counts the strips and then it knows where it is)

Hence if the stripe is now in your possession the printer doesn’t know where the cartridges are and just keeps moving them back and fro hoping to “find them”.. sadly without that stripe you printer will work no more L

Sorry.

SCREEN FLASHES, PINK STRIPES , SOMETIMES BLANKS TO BLACK THEN ON

This issue could be either the Monitor inverter failing or it could be your Video card. If you have another computer available, plug the monitor into a different computer and see if you get the same behavior, if you do, then the monitor is failing and needs to be replaced. If on a different computer it works fine, then you may have a video card failing. Does it seem to happen the longer the monitor is on? Could be as it heats up, it starts to fail.

Display has 2 inch black stripe running vertically down screen

I have an IBM think pad that developed a 2 inch black strip on the left side of my dispaly. I tried restoring to a previous setting, I updated video drivers, I reset display properties. None of the above worked and am now thinking of formatting and reinstalling windows as a last hope unless someone has any other ideas.
