SOURCE: Toshiba regza went black, then the northen lights appered!

prosit, If unit can be opened, I recommend you visually inspect the main power supply printed circuit board for "bad" electrolytic filter capacitors that may be faulty and failed prematurely! Lots of DIY videos at YOUTUBE that you should view before doing a "teardown" !!! Remember THIS!!! You MUST document your teardown with video or digital stills so before disconnecting any connectors to the board so you can put unit back together exactly as it was before you started any board repair work!! e.g. replacement of filter capacitors, fuses, resistors, and solder joint inspection of through-hole and or surface mounted active and passive components. DO YOUR WEB RESEARCH OF YOUTUBE VIDEOS FIRST!!!! Good luck guy. Keep us tech's informed of your progress by doing additional posts (comments) here on fixya. 12fixlouie

I am tiring to install a GE touch auto shut-off timer, I have 2 wires in the wall 1 black & 1 white, the switch has 4 wires (1 green[ground?], 1 blue, 1 black & 1 white) when I try to follow the...

You might not be able to use that switch in your configuration. It appears that the power was run to the light and only two wires were run back to the switch. The old switch only closes to connect those two wires completing the circuit at the lighting fixture, but you need a hot and a neutral to operate the electronic switch that you have.

Installing fan & light control (27182) - in the box, there are red, white and black wires. On the control, there are red, blue and black. So, black to black; red to red; right?....does blue go to...

Under normal circumstances, NO! Black is normally power in to a box and to a switch. The switch controls the power out to the red line and most likely the blue line. White is always circuit neutral (ground). Your power will most likely come in via black and then go to the lights on either red or blue and to the fan on the other wire, either red or blue, the color you did NOT use for the lights. Some place you should also have a bare or green wire that would act as equipment ground, connecting to the metal of the box.

I have a black and white wire to hook to. leviton has black, blue and white. green also but thats a ground. what do i do with the blue wire? this is a single switch to a gfci then to outside lighting....

The blue wire is the switched hot wire coming from the leviton.
So:
black hot/source to black leviton -- blue leviton to black for light fixture or black "line" on GFI -- all whites connected together.

Charlie

P.S. If the GFI is only powering a light fixture, it is not needed.

Blue vertical line at reght side of screen

This is normal. Depending on what you have connected to it the lines could be white, black and white specs, or green. Just mode will show the entire picture event the parts that aren't supposed to be seen. I would not recommend that setting. Full is the best mode if you want to see the entire picture in the correct ratio.

Power button does nothing

Try a hard reset by pulling the mainsplug out of the television..wait for a minute or so and plug it back in..The software in your tv is hanging so a hard reboot should fix this..

Take a look at this image:

0d5b58e.jpg Notice that the Line 1 will typically present on pins 3&4 and Line 2 on 2&5. I would think in your case Black/Blue is Line 1 (3&4) and Yellow/Black is Line 2 (2&5).

If you have a 1 line phone and only have 1 line active, then typically blue and blue/white can be connected to the Blue and Black of your Jack. If this doesn't work, switch with the Yellow and Black.

Please let me know if you have further questions. Good Luck!
