Hello Friend, I am Nitin Khatri from India. 2 reason for this problem. 1. HDD Status OK but not showing recording due to Date changed to old year, month, day, please check camera date and search recording. 2. HDD Status fail, so you need to do following things:- Your CCTV DVR HDD is not working or got stuck while recording footage, now you need to reset your HDD. Note:- As you mentioned you replace Computer HDD into DVR, it means your have installed Normal HDD in CCTV DVR which is a bad idea, your CCTV technician should inform you that time when he installed that normal HDD in DVR. CCTV DVR HDD called Surveillance HDD which RPM rate is higher and can work well for recording footage buy a Western Digital Surveillance HDD and Install into your CCTV DVR for future safety.
Manuals online say they have them for download but after download it was a DVR 508 HD
Only thing I can suggest is buy another with a manual in the package
Open DVR cover then locate a micro switch in Main Board.
when DVR switched off keep pressing this switch and then turn on the DVR.
keep switch pressed until you hear 3 or 4 beeps.
or a message appear on screen. Resetting to the Factory Defaults.
I am not sure if it has a reset switch in the back of the unit, but you can always remove the internal battery for 10 seconds and that reset everything
Everything that you require is on the CD that comes with the DVR.
You just have to set the IP thru hyper-terminal if the DVR is not set to DHCP, but if it is, and you have DHCP server on your network, then just connect it, then install Administrator Console from the CD.
Administrator Console is used for almost everything. Investigator Console is for picture retrieval.
Once again, manuals are also on the CD.
You need to do a INITIALIZATION/REINITIALIZATION

If you are installing the DVR,
follow the steps below to initialize the unit as part of the
installation instructions in the Installation/ Operation Manual. This procedure
erases all data on the hard disk drive and is necessary to ensure
that there is no data that could cause improper operation when you try
to use it. With a clean hard drive, the DVR can correctly index recorded
video with the correct time and date. Once the DVR is initialized, you
should not reinitialize the DVR again unless you are having
trouble finding and playing back video, and there is no other solution.
If you have to reinitialize the DVR, make sure the time and date are
correct before beginning the procedure. WARNING:
When you
initialize or reinitialize the DVR: • The hard disk drive is erased. • The password and all menu
settings return to their default conditions. To initialize or reinitialize the
DVR: 1. Press and hold the Function
button. The Function Key List appears. Keep holding the
Function button. 2. Press and release the 0
button, and then release the Function button. Enter the password if
requested. The Setup Menu appears. 3. Using the front panel buttons,
enter 1220. 4. A screen appears and asks if
you want to continue. Use the Search (<</>>)
buttons to highlight Yes or No to erase the hard disk drive, and then press
the Play/Pause button. PASSWORD The default password is 0000. If
you change the password, and then forget it, you can get into
the system by using 2002.
