Sounds like either the compressor is out or the relay that starts the compressor is out. I would try replacing the relay/overload on the compressor and hope for the best. if you have a continuity tester then check from each of the 3 posts sticking out of the side of the compressor that the relay/overload push on to fo one of the copper pipes coming off the compressor..no continuity is good if you get continuity then the compressor is shorted and ruined

Rangemaster sxs cream . Why is my fridge and freezer the same temp ???? If anybody could give me an answer or solution.

Jason,
MOST refrigerators get there cold from the freezer side and circulate it via a fan that's also normally inside the freezer. There are three motors normally in a refrigeration system. The inside Evaporator fan motor that circulates air across the evaporator coil inside the box, the Condenser fan motor near the compressor that cools the freon after compression, and the compressor itself. If you open the doors (and sometimes you may have to hold in the door switches) do you hear a fan running? If not you could have a couple things going on: 1. The fan(s) has failed. 2. The freezer Evap coil may of iced over and the fan too is frozen stopped. 3. Your condensing unit:(compressor, condenser fan, condenser coils) has a problem.
It is important to know if the compressor itself is running. If there is a loose connection to the compressor via the start/over load relay (normally attaches directly onto the compressor), or if the start/over load otself is bad the compressor will not run. Best way to tell is via gauges but I doubt your frig has ports. Check to see if your compressor is really hot. Could be bad start/over load relay or bad compressor. Try unplugging your frig for say 30 min then, with your hand on top of a cool compressor, plug the frig back in and see if compressor smoothly vibrates for at least 5 min without becoming very hot or shutting off even though fan continues to run. The fact your fan is running TYPICALLY means the thermostat is calling for lower temps and the fan/compressor kick in together.

Kenmore Refrig Model # 75922400 top Freezer. Freezer is freezing really good but frig is around 46 - 48 degrees at coldest setting. We discovered ice on vents in freezer and thawed them out with hair...

Sounds like a defrost failure.
Look on the back wall of the freezer from the inside.
If it is covered in ice your defrost system has failed.
Also check the fan motor in the freezer.
If it is not running it must be replaced.

Fan motor keeps kicking on.

You must have a bad compressor relay

are the coils clean under the frig or some models have in the rear clean and now if clean and fan doing its job then possible a sealed system issue and you'll need to get a knowledgeable person to check for weak charge or leak

Fan running,both cold settings at 4 , freezer 14 degrees C

you need to replace the start components on the compressor, theres a relay that mounts on to the compressor that takes out the start winding after it starts the compressor up. You can also try whats called a three in one to try to start up the unit. Good Luck.

Kenmore Side by side is HOT between fridge and freezer. I know there are alot of comments on how to check the coils but I don't understand how... I checked the toe kick area and I don't even see coils......

THE ONLY THING HOT IN FREEZER IS DEFROST HEATER AT COMES ON EVERY 6 HRS. FOR 20 MINUTES, YOU CAN PULL THE FRIG. OUT AND USE A 5/16 OR 1/4 INCH NUT DRIVER TO REMOVE CARDBORD,YOU WILL FIND CONDENSER FAN AND CONSENSER COILS,USE HAND BRUSH AND THEN A SHOP VAC TO REMOVE ALL DUST,YOUR FRIG. WILL WORK ALOT EASYER NOW,THANKS-MIKE
