I reset the phone now the apple icon is on screen and is frozen ?

You need to reset it. I had same problem was just about to throw it away. Boy am i glad i didnt do it. If you go to youtube, type in "how to reset my apple ipod" it gives you a video. Pretty easy to follow.

I had the similar problem. Found this suggestion on the web to reset iPhone 3G to it's original settings. You may have to restore your media and data files after resetting. It's the only way out for me since I can't get beyond the "Apple Logo" thingy, and I am too lazy to bring it down to the Apple Store.

Try this:
1.) Shut down the iPhone 3G.
2.) Start up iTunes
3.) Hold down HOME button on the iPhone 3G
4.) While keeping the HOME button depressed, plug in the Sync cable
5.) A message will pop up to ask if you want to reset.
6.) Just click YES and the reset process should start.

try the new update that just came out today , sync your phone in itunes and then install the new update on the ios software . hopefully this works

Havr you tried holding down the top button and the home button at the same time until the iPhone turns off? This resets the iPhone

my iphone after fully format does not started again ,i can see apple icon and black screen only

when on camera mode, there is an icon on the lower right of the screen i think. that is the icon to switch to video mode.

Sometimes, the iPhone 3G gets so frozen that the standard force quite process for program doesn’t work. In that case, you’ll need to reset the iPhone.
To do that, hold both the sleep/wake and Home buttons together for at least 10 seconds.
The red shut down slider will show up at the top of the screen and then disappear. Keep holding the buttons. The screen may even go black, but don’t let go of the buttons until the Apple logo shows up. When it appears, let the buttons go and the phone will start up normally.

ok...........there might b a problem in ur mobile hardware....or with da software of ur phone....or da key might b damaged.....first try to reset ur phone.see if it works.....

Just a feature. This is so you can move them around. It happens when you hold down on an icon for a second. A quick tap on an icon instead of a long one should solve it.

Reset the iPhone by holding the sleep/wake button at the top right of the device and the home button at the bottom center of the face at the same time. Hold them both until you see the screen go black and the white Apple logo appear. When this happens, you can let go - the iPhone is rebooting.
