If it is not picking up speed on the spin cycle then it is the motor or the belt. check the belt first for proper tension and make sure the motor has the proper output. I think something is slipping and not transferring torque to the tub.

Testimonial: "hi thanks for the advice I have been told it could be the brushes as the machine is on the older side and when we took the back off when it goes into the spin cycle we can see sparks from the brushes do you think this is the problem"

Yes, it could be the brushes and that is fairly easy to check if you get the motor apart. For a first timer this is not the easiest to accomplish but you have to learn at sometime. The sparking at the brushes is not uncommon as that is where the magic happens so is not a solid indicator of bad brushes.

The load might be unbalanced, and will not spin at full speed as it could damage the machine. Try reloading the machine

Washing machine wont spin

A lot of times the bearing wear... they are placed around the drum and maybe sticking.. If it squealed or made funny noises check those first. It would be like putting on a break and trying to drive a car.

Hoover AM1100 Washing machine, wont final spin.

The noise, is it a grinding noisy like worn bearings?

put the washer on drain only - is the pump working ok, take the filter out to see if it is turning ok, does that make a strange noise?

If the pump is fine, its back to that noise, it could be be a faulty tacho on the motor ( regulates the spin speed) or motor bearings - has the motor spindle a lot of play on it?
Let me know how you get on and good look!

My hoover optima machine model no. HNF 6127 keeps stopping at the rinse cycle

Check to see if it is on rinse hold or crease care, if it is this will cause it to stop at the rlnses, also ensure that tjhere is cold water at the valve, a faulty cold inlet valve will cause it to stop,as it will be waiting for cold water.
Plz rate my solutioun.
Thanks.

My hoover optima washing machine model no. HNF 6127 keeps stopping when it gets to the rinse cycle

Make sure it is not on rinse hold or crease care, release if it is, make sure pump is working, and that the cold inlet valve is working., all of these things could prevent it from completing rinse cycle.
Plz rate this solution.
Thanks.

Not spinning in high speed

possibly a faulty "off-balance" detector, but not sure...try to purposely make it go off balance during wash...maybe a few pairs of sneakers?

Draining & Spinning

I had a problem and when they took the back off. Underwire bra had got jammed through drum holes which stopped it spinning and water issues. I hope this might help.
