Missing power light - Haier 5 cu. ft. / 142 liter Chest Freezer HCM050WA

Most freezers use a red neon power light to warn if power supply is interrupted No light=no power.

If the freezer is working properly then the circuit that feeds the power to the power light is not working or the light itself is burned out. Either one or the other.

Not an expert opinion but seems that either you have low refrigerant and maybe the compressor is not therefore starting or the compressor has an issue, or the power to the compressor is missing.

Check your outlet with something else that will work, like a radio. If the green light does not come on, then check the wiring. The green light should be on even if the freezer has reached it's temperature. That is simply a light to indicate that power is at the receptacle.

Try disconnecting power for about 30 seconds, and then restore power. This will reboot the control and maybe restart.

If the unit is still working, and the power light is flickering, don't worry about it. I've seen this very often where the small, rectangular power light flickers and there is absolutely nothing wrong with the unit. It's just the light going bad. It will probably, eventually go out all together. Again, as long as it's working and keeping temp. don't worry.

I turned the fridge and freezer off using the circular dials, I then turned the unit off at the mains. Left it for a few minutes and then turned the power back on. I then turned the circular dials to "max" and then depressed the super cool and super freeze buttons to turn this facility on. This time they came on normally (not flashing) and no alarm sounded. The fridge and freezer then started to get cold. Once the unit had been running for several hours I then turned the dials to the 3/4 mark and depressed the super cool and super freeze buttons again to turn them off. Over night the fridge and the freezer appear to be working properly so I hope that my problem is solved. Maybe the unit just needed to "settle" before being switched on?

did someone chop the lead off it? if so why did they?
this freezer may be electricaly unsafe. If the lead has been chopped off then there should be the tails of the old lead still on the terminals, so just replace them with the new lead.
I would strongly advise you to test it for any potential shorts etc before you turn it on.
