Remove wire

If you pull the speaker grille and unscrew the service door behind it, you will find a sticker on the surrounding frame of where the hv splitter is(the one with 4 red thick wires), I think you are supposed to turn the wire you want out 5 times and pull, but I am not sure so look for that important note.

RCA 52in. Projection TV D52W19B does anyone

Hello butmommy03,

This is the procedure but first I must warn you. You are dealing with one of the most dangerous parts of a TV The High Voltage anode or the CRT and the flyback transformer. That being said this is what you have to do:

1) unplug the TV from the wall or power strip.

2) take the back of the TV, and find the High voltage trippler and using a screwdriver grounded by a clip-lead to the grounding strip touch it to the exposed metal of the input to the High Voltage trippler.

3) using a soldering iron de-solder and remove the wire from the HV trippler.

4) Once this is done, angle the chassis to expose the bottom of the Deflection board, if this is no possible you will have to remove the deflection board to get a look at the bottom, once this is done and you can view the bottom of the board using a soldering iron and a de-soldering pump you can remove the solder from around the pins of the flyback transformer about 10 pins in all. Then remove the screws that hold the flyback in place. this is the procedure you requested,

However again I must ask you not to do this yourself and to get a qualified TV technician to troubleshoot this TV for you.

Thank you,

Locating the ''flyback transformer '' on a rca mod #R52WH74

It is usually large and black. Its the one with the rather thick red wire coming out of it. The other end of that wire either connects directly to the picture tube or into a distribution block which distributes the high voltage to the 3 picture tubes (guns) in projection TV's. Be aware that this transformer produces high voltage and can store voltage even when the set is unplugged. I hope this helps.

RCA 52 rear projector tv makes chirpping noise wont turn on

You have a bad high voltage transformer. It is the white square device about 3inch square with large red wire coming out. Must be replaced with RCA original NO GENERIC. Also the horizontal output transistor must be checked to see if it is good. Recommend honest qualified tv repairman
