My printer will only copy documents in color, if i select from its keyboard to do a black ink copy, the page will come out blank, nothing printed, even if it seems to be printing and scanning with no problem. when I print something from my pc in black like eg. a text document, it will print with no problem, and there is no error in printing in any sense, the problem is since i bought it second hand so I can;t tell if it's a factory issue or not.
Check the printers settings. It could be that it is set up incorrectly or you may be out of ink and it only appears to print from your computer because it can use all colors to make it appear black ink is used. Usually when color ink is used to create black print, it isn't a Black Black but with a bit of brownish hue. Try changing setting to USE BLACK ONLY and then see what happens. ALSO TRY my solution vice a versa.
Good luck

Had the same issue... No black ink. Called the # from "Solution #1" guest, 18004216699. Had to patiently go through all the basic trouble shooting stuff like calibration, print head clean, demo print, etc. Once I went through that, they issued me a new print head for free, no shipping charges or anything. Just did this today, but they say I should have the print head in 3 days.
For once, service worked like it should!

Plunger needs to be cleaned, print head also would need to be looked at on this one.

try to perform a cleaning cycle, if your running on windows just go to the control panel look for printers and faxes, find your printer icon then right click once left click on printing preferences, left click on the maintenance tab then click on head cleaning for about 3 to 4 times in a row. then check for a test print and see if it still persist.
