Sound cuts out in Westinghouse LTV-32w6 HD TV

is it ran through a HDMI cable?
sometimes the source is at fault or it could be a bad hdmi cable or maybe a bad hdmi port. if your using a hdmi try plugging it into another hdmi port and see if that helps

PS3 screen flash / sound cut-out

The PS3 has an issue with what's called the "HDMI handshake" between the PS3 and the TV. The PS3 does not even realise that this is happening. What you might try to do is turn the system on, play a game, and when the flashing and no sound occurs, unplug the HDMI cable from your PS3, wait a few seconds and plug it back in. This may resolve your issue. If it doesn't work, try component cables, there is no known issue with this problem occuring with this type of connection. Good luck!
