After the tv has bben on for a short while, it will automatically shut off. If you wait a few minutes, you can power it on again and it will stay on for a while. It seems to be happening more as time goes on. We have had the TV for 5 years.

I have a panasonic 46 in. lcd that keeps shutting off and turning itself back on. The problem is getting worse and it is getting very difficult to keep it running at all now. I have had it at a tv repair shop for 2 weeks and they seem to be unable to solve the problem. The tv is only 2yrs old.

all of a sudden the tv shut down and the red indicator light on the front of the tv was flashing. is it maybe an over heating issue

tv shuts down by itself and you can manually turn it right back on but it keeps shutting down

Same here. Mine started shutting down (while turned off) after 2 yrs of use. I was unable to turn it on and the light just blinked. 1st time I paid a Sears technician to look at it and he unplugged it and waited a few minutes then plugged it back in and it worked fine for a couple of weeks, then started again and unplugging it does not do the trick anymore.

Are you sure about the model number? I went to the Panasonic service website and could not find any info....Is there any info on the back of the unit such as chassis number G-9 G-10 etc?

How to by panasonic panal th 42pv7hs

Yes it should still be covered find ur direction book and check out ur warranty and see if Panasonic will come out and cover it. Always beef up ur story you have been Panasonic owners for years when u call them. You have gotten all of ur friends and family to switch ect... Even if it's not covered sometimes loyalty goes a long way.

Can you tell me what a Panasonic Viera Model TH-42PD25 would be worth today? I'm thinking of buying one second hand and aren't sure what I should pay. Thanks!

Hi.

Second hand price is difficult to say, probably about $500. If the unit is in good shape it does not go down too much.
New RRP is over $1000, offers however start at about US$600 (about £400 in UK). Probably you can find a little cheper in Ebay.

Here a link: Panasonic Viera TH-42PZ80U

I suggest not buying a second hand plasma. Plasma TVs have a couple of weakness points, and often break down after few years usage. If you buy a second hand you do not have any info on its usage, and you may find yourself in need of changing a sustain board within the year.

Plasma, panasonic viera

I had a similar problem with my Panasonic Viera 46 " 80U. I believe it was caused by HDMI ideoscyracies. When I turned off TV before shutting down the HDMI connected with my computer. It froze up. I could not get the TV to reboot, even if I pulled the plug, until I reconnected the HDMI to my computer and when I shut the computer down properly, something in the HDMI communicated to and released the TV from the freeze. At least that seemed to be the answer.

Let me know if this makes sense or if anyone experienced something similar.
