After repairing the Ysus board, my Plasma finally has a good picture. But the only thing that's not ok, is the Vs voltage on the PSU. With and without connecting the YSUS the voltage cannot be set lower than 212 Volts. According to the panel sticker it needs 198V. I cannot find the error on the PSU. What could be the error?

if you are a tech in any aspect, try testing the power points Vs and Va voltages. If not present even with the other circuit boards disconnected the Vs is supposed to be 205v when disconnected like on my tv, it only had 12v and the Va which is supposed to read 56v was reading about 10v when the boards were connected (Y Buffers). With the boards disconnected the power supply will read high voltages, and when connected (try lower first, then try upper, then try together). If there is a voltage drop (significant) that particular board connected is the culprit. If the PSU doesn't read a large voltage like mentioned, try replacing the PSU first. Go to www.shopjimmy.com for parts
If the picture has red 'staining' all over the picture which is static then the fault is the Xsus pcb. If the picture has random 'sparklies' that change then it may be a case that either the ppower supply Vs voltage has deviated from its set voltage which can be adjusted by a potenitometer on the psu pcb...or if the psu voltages are correct (when compared to the screen label factory voltages) then by tweaking the Ysus trimmers, The fault could be a deviated tolerance on the Ysus.
The part that caused the fuse to blow is the hybrid that is mounted underneath the heatsink on the YSUS and ZSUS boards. The part used on these boards might be YPPD-J017C or YPPD-J018C, in about 90% of the time, replacing these hybrids fixes the plasmas with no video but good audio. Since VS and GND is shorted, that means that the hybrid has shorted internally. Most service techs would rather replace the entire YSUS or ZSUS boards since the hybrids are very difficult to remove.

I have the same problem the pic went out but have sound. where do i go to get the Yboard? do i need a special number off of it or something? I took it to repair shop and he said it would be like 500 dollarss to repair. but i see all kind of yboards on ebay for like 150?? how do I know what one to buy?
Sounds like the y sus was blown out but what cause it. Were you careful when you were checking voltages? As long as you didn't short 2 components together, your y sus should be fine. Unless the y buffer up and/or down blew them out. Even the panel could blow it.
Basically you need a scope to adjust the ramps and everything. You can adjust VA and VS with a meter. If you don't have access to a scope, then just start changing the ramps etc by eye. It might take a little bit to get but eventually you'll get it.
Your Vs voltage is high, check if the heatsinks on the Z-sustain board are getting hot after a short time, if so replace the Z-sustain board. If not, dis-connect the Vs & Va plug connection to the Y-sustain & check if the voltages are normal (185V & 80V). If they are then your fault will be in the Y-sustain board. There is a possibility the control board (sits below the power supply) could also be a problem as it is not able to initiate the control to the sustain boards.
This TV is a plasma according to the model number you've posted. It does not use a lamp.
If the plasma does not show any picture, there might be a defective Ysus, Zsus or power suppy board.
There is a high failure rate on the Ysus and Zsus boards.
Search for a Ysus and Zsus board on google and you should find them.
Good Luck.
Remove the Power Supply cable to Y Main board and check the Vs voltage in Power Supply board.
1. Vs voltage is OK, replace the Logic board or Y Main board.
2. Vs voltage is NG, replace the Power Supply board.
My Haier 42EP24S did the same thing 23 days after the warranty expired. I am an Electronic Technician by trade so tried to repair it. I found that the problems was on the YSUS board. The Vs supply line develops a short and causes the 4Amp fuse to open. This is a common problem with this LG made monitor. There are no board level schematics available for this monitor so component level repairs are almost impossible, board replacement only. The YSUS board cost $460 from haier. I complained to Haier America and they replaced my unit with a new HDTV. That was 6 months ago and now the replacement tv is going junk. Good Luck.....
