Standby button continuosly flashes blue, and when i press channel up on the remote, it goes crazy and channels keep flipping on their own with just one my press
These blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit stage inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power led, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Count it carefully. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. It has details about blinking codes, and fault locating, to many popular brand TVs and other devices. Viewing it in "Mosaic" will make surf easy.

If the TV goes in standby, then it is in protection mode.
Ensure also that the fault is not coming from a faulty receiver box sending
bad signal, check if you get same problem on DVD with no receiver box
connected.
Try first leaving the TV power cord unplugged for some times, let say one hour or so.
The flashing light indicates a diagnostic state called protection.
When the TV goes on protection there are only two possible causes.
1Theinternal circuits are jammed because of electrostaticcharges accumulating on capacitors, or because of a wrong voltage readby the main chip on your monitor controller board. this started theprotection circuit.
2 The protection circuit detected a wrongvoltage or abroken contact, identified an internal fault and kicked in, starting the flashing light.
If you are in situation one, then the TV will reset just unplugging power cord for one or two hours, sometimes even minutes.
If you are in situation 2 , then there is an internal fault.
If under warranty contact the manufacturer ringing the number on the user manual

LCD/Plasma Electronic Replacement Parts: Plasma & LCD TVs, Appliances |
On LCD Payparticular attention at inverter and power board, power board can beinspected looking for bulged or leaking capacitors, then tested with amultimeter. The inverter is more difficult to test , there is need toread voltages, should be done by a tech. Also the LCD controller board can cause same problem
On Plasma, test Sustain (Ysus/Zsus) / Buffer boards , cables to plasma, digital board and power board.
On Rear Projection : check lamp, lamp ballast, power board, and convergence.
On CRT TVs, check ballast , flyback transformer, CRT, Tuner, Convergence.

Hey John, How many times does the light blink? No blinks - Problem in the standby power section. Might check fuse, R607, Q601, IC601, R612 and VDR601 (should show open). Continuous blink once a second, no pausing - No reply from the jungle IC301 (data bus is busy, shorted to ground, or held high), IK video path is defective. One blink - not used for the self-diagnosis Two blinks - B+ over current protection (OCP), unit goes to the standby mode then displays the 2 blink fault. Could be a short in the power supply of any of the circuits. Three blinks - B+ over voltage protection (OVP), unit goes to the standby mode then displays the 3 blink fault. This is also a problem in the power supply circuit, check T603 and R672. Four blinks - No vertical Deflection (V STOP), Screen goes to a single horizontal line then the video signal muted. Check IC1509, Q1505 Five blinks - AKB circuit (automatic kine bias), the timer/standby indicator blinks for about 30 seconds then goes to the self-diagnosis function. Something is wrong with the video. Check video out, Q705, 732, 761 and other components on the Cboard, also check Q218, 219, 220 on the A board. In addition, unit could be in IK blanking, try turning up screen slightly. Six blinks - No Horizontal (H STOP), no raster, goes to the blinking self-diagnosis function immediately. Check C515 & 516 and the jungle IC, IC206. Seven blinks - High voltage shutdown. The high voltage has exceeded 33k and the unit goes immediately into safety shutdown. Check power supply regulation and horizontal circuits. Eight blinks - Problem with the audio (AUDIO), unit goes to standby and blinks the self-diagnosis code. Check IC406 audio amp, PS401, and 402. On some newer models of Sony TV sets, this code means that T8005 is defective on the D board. Nine blinks - Replace D 6116 and D 6301 on the "G" board, do not resolder as this will fix the problem temporary. Or Panel Module Error or Thermal Error. If it is intermittent 9 blinks, meaning sometimes the TV comes on and other times you get flashing, then change the switching regulator on the "G" board or check connections. Make sure the regulator is -12 or -13 (negitive). Ten blinks - Check Q8014 and Q8013 for shorts, leakage, or bad solder connections on the " D" board. If the transistors are bad, check R8051 and IC8005, also on the "D" board. I suggest you do a hard reset. Unplug the power cord for 4 hours. Then plug it back in and check it. If it works, great. It not, cost of repair for this is usually around $150 - $250 plus the house call.

the channel down button is stuck on, you need to replace this switch internaly to the set.
