Please advise what OS you are using and what antivirus you are attempting to download, and the URL you are trying to download it from. This will allow people to help you more efficiently.
In the mean time I can suggest that often malware infections will prevent a computer from downloading cures/solutions such as anti-virus software. If you suspect you have an infection, this could be the cause of the anti-virus download failure.
In such cases it is recommended you use a bootable CD to try and clear these infections, such as Avira rescue CD, Avira rescue CD can be downloaded here:

However this may be difficult to download on an infected machine, so I would recommend you use an alternative machine that is fully functional to download the bootable CD image.
