Viewsonic va2431wm monitor, lCDd slowly fade from normal screen to white. The monitor turns on but only get white screen, no color. Open monitor, nor bad capacitors. Why no picture?

Hello, unfortunately this is usually due to hardware problem, In this specific situation it is most likely the problem with lcd panel itself (electronic on panel). Sometimes it can work after the units becomes cold (not working for some time) and you power it on again.
Anyway if you are not familiar with electronics , please visit proper service center, due to the high voltage inside.
Hope this helps.

Monitor just turns itself off after 2 sec.

disconnect all the cables except the power cable and then turn the monitor on you would see a test screen if it still happens your monitor is faulty and better buy a new one as repairing is usually expensive .

E machine monitor turns itself off and on

The same thing happened to me today. I was just sitting in my room then i hear a click and the cpu is on it stays on for a while then cuts off. It then cuts on and off with few seconds in between. It then stays in that way cutting and off for about a minite or two and then cuts off completely. A few minutes later it starts again. Also in the time it its off it will not turn on by pressing the power button. Sometimes it completly boots up by itself and then shuts itself down. If I shut it down manually while its on it'll turn itself on immeditaly after. What's going on! Will the warranty cover it? Do I need a new computer?

Monitor turns off after 10-15 minutes despite power adjustment on computer being set to "never".

jslusby, If you move this Samsung740N to a KNOWN GOOD pc fully booted up to the WIN-desktop, will it do the same thing even though you keep moving the mouse every minute or so? Can you prove that your pc is OK by swapping in a KNOWN GOOD monitor? Have you done the Flashlight test that every LCD monitor owner should know how to do when faced with the dreaded "BLACK SCREEN" symptom? Have you viewed any of the longer (8-12min.) video clips on YOUTUBE of "LCD monitor disassembly" and also "LCD repair" . You may also need to visit www.ccl-la.com/badcaps.htm for some info and see pic's of bad caps at www.badcaps.net . After you get to KNOW your monitor and what the top 2 causes of "BLACK SCREEN" are, you then stop in at your local computer store and ask them to demonstrate the LCD flashlight test on a monitor. If the Tech says "what's that" with a quizzical look on his or her face, then get out of there really fast and try someone else. Well, anyway, after you get some information and you still don't know what to do with your monitor, get back here and make a "comment" to your original posting, and I will offer up some options that you might want to look into doing with your monitor. Bye for now. I'm louie12fix on fixya or lmistyrel @ aol.com

I have a AOC flat screen monitor and it got wet and it will turn on for a few seconds but the screen is blurry and looks wet itself , is there anyway to fix this ?

hello my friend, try to blower your monitor. Open it and see if inside of the monitor is not wet cause if it is wet then it could cause some short circuit problem so the best thing to do is to let the monitor check if it is wet and dry it up before turning on

Turns off and on by itself

Ok so its connected to your pc?
check settings on the monitor itself [if you'restill able to do that]
disconnect all your usb devices restart your computer and try again.

Is it in a cold room ? that might be the problem.

Is it in the same powerbar as your computer ?
I'm not sure but if your power outlet where you connect it is simply looped to the rest that are in use [lazy electrician] then it might turn off because a power shortage.

Good luck

Monitor not working...sorta

I just changed my video card and after turning up my screen refresh rate (Hz) my monitor started doing the same thing. Monitor worked great for a long time but now its done! The only thing I can think of is that it has to have 60Hz, turn it up for gaming and its too sensitive to frequency. By the way, mine will turn on after a few power cycles.

Samsung syncmaster 711p power issue

Its a general fault however all these units are under a 3 year warrantee the dates printed on the back, just call 08706010309 speak to a service engineer and they will arrange a swap out within 5 working days, no need to a receipt as they can tell the units age from the serial. the replacement will be under the same 3 years cover in my case it was for another 6 months
