Did you check power an grounds at the driver door switch ? Before changing the switch ? How about fuse's ? You could go to you tube an check out videos on power windows an door lock trouble shooting . Basic electrical trouble shooting etc.... Go to www.bbbind.com/ for free wiring diagrams to trouble shoot the circuits .
Sounds like a bad door switch ( the little button the door closes against). If that switch is bad, the dryer thinks the door is open even though the door is closed. Dryer will not start. thats the easiest place to start.
check the actual door switch,, you can jumper it to see if this is the problem, Just connect the 2 wires together , if this cures the problem replace the switch
Check your breakers to see if they tripped. If your sure you have power to the dryer, then check the door switch. You should hear a click from the switch. If no click is heard, replace switch with this part.
Usually a dryer that will not start is the door switch. The switch is simple to change and comes in different styles. Some have a screw or two to remove and some without screws you just pry out to replace. To replace open the door and you will se a button that closes the switch when the door is closed. Depending on the type remove screws or pry the switch out. Your local appliance dealer has these switches cheap. Take your with you as well as the make and model number to buy a new switch. Reinstall and all is well. Hope that helps and thanks for asking Fixya.com, Rich
If the thermal fuse is still good then I would check the door switch. Next would be the push to start switch. If not these there is some trouble shooting to do to locate where power is lost. Eric
First trouble shooting is to make sure you are getting 220 to the outlet not 110; We all know that on a 220 outlet there is 110 on each side and if you are not getting 110 from each side, the dryer motor won't turn on. If you are getting 220, then try manual start. Hold in on the door switch and push the start switch. If that don't work then it is the motor.
Hi, check the following trouble spots below. you will find the issue in one or, all the areas stated.
1. No power to the washer Make sure there's power getting to the washer. Check for a tripped circuit breaker or a blown fuse. Check the wall socket for power. Sometimes the power cord disconnects at the washer, if this is the case, the wiring must be repaired or replaced.
2. Lid switch/door latch The washing machine may not function if the lid switch or door latch mechanism is defective. The switch is usually located near the door. Replace if found defective.
**If you are getting power to the washer and, step 1 and 2 check out ok, replace the timer control or control Board and start switch as well.(You can test the continuity or, resistance level of the Lid/door switch with a multimeter(ohm).
i would start simple, check your door switch for continuity and then check the start switch. If this is an electric dryer make sure you have a ull 220 volts to the dryer, anything less and only part of the machine (timer) will operate
Door not shut Check that the door is properly shut.Faulty interlock A faulty interlock might not allow the door to shut properly. Find your door interlock here and replace, or contact a qualified repairer. No power Check the flex, plug wiring, fuse and mains supply for faults. Faulty on/off switch Check the power light if fitted. Replace your on/off switch. Water supply disconnected or off If a washer dryer cannot load water it cannot start a wash cycle. Check water supply.
Dryer would not start... light is not on... I check everything but no luck (Dryer is only 3 or 4 year old with no history of trouble)
