Even with new battery, on-off will not click

1) If timer worked before and stopped working, then manual says last step is to reset timer.
If timer will not function after reset, then timer is broken.

2) You posted under battery-operated ST01C timer, that comes with 1 year limited warranty.
Open following page to identify timer, read ez instructions, and download on-line manual
http://waterheatertimer.org/ST01C-program.html

3) How to reset ST01C
Hold down on-off button and press reset button
Release reset button.
Keep holding down on-off button until INIT flashes on screen.
Release on-off and 12:00 will flash
Re-program timer using ez steps shown on link above.

On timer light is flashing.and tv shuts off in about 5 seconds after turnig it on.

Hello
Timer function is in ON position and have been set to the least time I thinks. You just go to the menu and put the timer fuction of OFF.

The On/Off timer lets you program your television to turn itself on or off. You can use it as an alarm

to wake up, to help you remember important programs, or as a decoy when you're not home.

Press the MENU button

Press UP or DOWN button on the remote control hanset to ON/OFF TIMER

Make it OFF.

Switch off the TV by its front panel power button, and switch it ON again after 10 seconds.

OK.

If you keep hitting the program button after making sure no program events are set, it just keeps cycling back through the 1-7 day program event options.

The ST01C programming is long and hard to understand
Intermatic has posted a EZ-version for programming
http://www.intermatic.com/products/timers/consumer%20indoor%20timers/in-wall%20timers/st01c.aspx

http://waterheatertimer.org/ST01C-program.html

First of all, you have to set current date on all brands of programmable timers before programming. On some timers, the wiring has to be correct before the timer will let you program.
If you have the ST01C, push the reset button with a paper clip until time flashes to 12:00, and then start over

When I have a problem with a timer, I go back to the manual and start writing out the instructions.
If you can write the instructions, then they usually make better sense >>> and then you wonder who wrote the manual.

Finally, the ST01C, and most digital timers, come with a 1-year limited warranty >> timers go bad.
