You need to encourage movement between the beater and the silver shaft it locks on to. There is nothing that you can unscrew to make it easier. Get a can of CRC and try & get it around the silver shaft at the top of the beater plus you should be able to get a bit in that side slot where the beater engages with that driving pin. Rock (twist) the beater side to side and slowly the grip will loosen and you will be able to encourage it off. Once you have it off you will need to clean out the CRC and polish up that silver shaft. Next is the more difficult part, you need to polish up that hole in the beater. What you are trying to do is remove the build up of flour in the hole so that it is pretty much shiny in there again without being significantly bigger than it was originally. I use a rat tail (round) file to do this job, you are just removing the darker build up in there. When done a good wash and dry and it will be like new again. Keep the hole clean of flour and it may not happen again.

Make sure your Beater can slip in and out of the Beater Shaft
easily. Do not force the beater onto the Shaft if the shaft is bent.
If it cannot be removed easily by hand, use a soft rubber mallet
(not a steel hammer) to slightly tap the beater so it can be moved
up and down the shaft or from side to side. Then you can easily
turn the beater left and remove it from the shaft.

1. Turn speed control to OFF.
2. Unplug stand mixer or disconnect power.
3. Tilt motor head back.
4. Slip beater onto beater shaft and press upward

There is only one pin on the beater shaft to hold the beater in place.
There is no spring or washer on the shaft.

1. Slip flat beater on beater shaft.

2. Turn beater to right, hooking beater over the pin on shaft.

Your Flat Beater, Wire Whip and Dough Hook attachement ends should
look the same. They are inserted onto the beater shaft and held in place
by a single pin. The reason you cannot attach the dough hook to the
beater shaft because it is the wrong hook for your particular model.

run under hot water over where the dough hook attatches to shaft. this should free it.

What I think you are describing is the snap ring (black) which you cannot move and the washer controlling the up thrust of the mixer. The black snap ring is usually a tight fit into the groove on the shaft and shouldn't move. The washer right above it is required to be there enabling the mixer to used with a spiral dough hook. The spiral dough hooks cause upwards pressure on the gear train that does not exist using a c-type dough hook. I think you mixer is fine............leave it alone, that's the way it was designed.

You are going to DESTROY YOUR MIXER by kneading dough with the flat beater. Read the directions. They spell it out in big letters. Only use the dough hook for dough; only use speed 2.
If the mixer generated enough torque to knead dough with the flat beater (it doesn't), it would tear up and overwork the dough. As it is, you're lucky you didn't strip a gear.
