Dryer is stuck on paused and won't spin. Turned off and re-started but the motor ran for a few seconds and then went to paused again.

I was drying bath mats and my dryer stopped. I checked and the machine said paused, now it won't run, it just keeps saying paused when I re-start it.

Good Morning Jill,

So I see that you were drying bath mats and the dryer got stuck in a "Pause" mode and even if you cancel and restart it shows "Pause" on the display. I would suggest resetting the dryer. What you will need to do is either unplug it or you can shut the power off at the circuit breaker. When you do this you will need to leave it off for at least 2-3 minutes. Cut the power back on, start any cycle. If you are still having trouble not being able to start the dryer and "Pause" showing, I suggest you either contact the manufacturer or your local authorized technician. I hope this is helpful.

-Best Regards-

I have a Samsung DV5451AEW/XAA dryer that will NOT shut off. It ran a cycle and finished drying. The panel is now turned off and non responsive, but the drum is running without heat. I have left the dryer...

Sounds like you have the spin relay for the drum, stuck in a closed position. If you can locate where it is, you van give it a few taps to get it to disengage. You will then have to try to clean the contact on the relay that is sticking with a toothbrush and some spray contact cleaner that is safe for plastic. If this doesn't work, you will have to replace the relay or the contact. I hope this helps.

My front end load dryer makes a humming noise when started then goes to pause

Have you checked the drying drum to see if it spins freely? Open the door and verify it spins freely. if it does then the motor may just be in a bad spot. usually after spinning the drum a turn or two it will get it running. it humms and clicks because of the motor not turning and trips an thermal overload switch and you have to wait for it to reset. Now if the drum dosent turn then you have a problem with drum rollers or something stuck in the way of the drum.

I have a whirlpool washer, model lsr7010pq1, and it won't spin on spin cycle. If I give it a spin by hand it will work. Agitation works fine, and the motor is running fine on spin. Could this be a belt...

when it gets to spin try to open and close the lid and see if it engages spin. if so the timer may not be pausing right before spin to allow the gear to drop and engage the spin cycle. it can also be a clutch or trans issue.you have to sit there through rinse and see if it pauses for a second a few seconds after it starts to drain if not it may be the timer which is common if its not pausing

Dryer lights works, but when the start button is pushed the drum does not spin. the timer shows the minutes counting off, but no spinning. the dryer worked yesterday, but no today. dryer is a duet...

I am having the same problem. Dried towels last night. This morning, I loaded it, turned it on, it did not lock the door or start drying (spinning) but the timer started counting down. I pressed Cancel twice, unplugged it for a few minutes then tried again. Problem still exists. Any suggestions?

Whirlpool dryer stops drying on its own.

it sounds like its overheating. there may be lint in the vent hose or even stuck in the machine before getting to the lint trap.

Washer won't spin

Check the washer motor. Make sure that the motor is getting correct voltage and is working and spinning when you turn it on. It sounds like the motor is bad. You can remove the back cover to get to the motor to check it out

LG Washing Machine All-in-One

Some magic happened today!

I got the thing (wd-12331ad) to dry without having to run a wash first!

Also, I seemed to get it to do a spin only run...

The way to get it to dry :
-----------------------------------
(for a set time - I've not managed to get any of the auto-dry settings to work)
from machine being off:
> press the power button.
> press the "Dry" button 'til "Time" lights up
>>> press "Dry" again to get the desired duration
> press the spin button 'til the spin speed shows blank/ the RPM light goes out.
> press "Start/Pause"

It will then dry for the number of minutes specified!

Not perfect, I know but that's serious progress from where I was before; having to re-run a wash cycle to get it to dry anything...

Something to note:
- The machine worryingly sounds like it's starting to fill with water when you start the "Just Dry" program which scared me at first. BUT it stops after a second or so (I think it's just cleaning out the detergent tray so it doesn't bake any leftover powder)

For "spin only" from machine being off:
-------------------------------------------------------
> press the power button.
> press the spin button
>>> if you press "Start/Pause" now you get a 13 minute 1200 spin cycle
>>> press the spin button again and then "Start/Pause", it seems to drain itself for 1 minute
>>> pressing spin repeatedly, cycles through the spin speeds.

Things I don't know:
----------------------------
- I don't know if you can combine spin and heat.
- I don't know whether the auto-dry programs are available
- I don't know what other programs are available from the "Dry"/"Spin" buttons

...So if anyone does any experimenting, please let us know the results, you never know, we might end up with a half way useful set of instructions! I'm starting to think the machine's not half as bad as it seems when following the manual alone.

Hope that helps.

Strong ozone-like burning smell

Sounds to me like the motherboard inside the unit is on it's way to thermal overload. This is a common problem with this particular model. You'll smell electronics burning and one day it'll quit altogether with a burst of smoke. I had this happen to me and I traced the problem back to a faulty triac (transistor-like device) that overheated and caused the circuit board and wiring harness to burn up from excessive current draw. I repaired my motherboard with a new triac ($6) and rewired the harnesses. A cooling fan on the heatsink of the board would solve this problem.

Sometimed error being displayed but also not completing cycles and not performing a fast spin

Hi there, I've also had this problem a few times. I've found cleaning out the filter can help solve the problem of the E20 message. Also when it doesn't spin fast it usually means the load is uneven. I found it happens with towels or bedcovers, heavier loads, if the load is uneven it will spin slowly for a good few minutes and then just stop with the clothes still dripping. I found rearranging the load more evenly usually sorts it out. I've had my machine for 18months now and usually love it. It washes and dries well, however, my dryer has stopped working again! I'd only had the machine 7 months when the dryer first stopped working another 11 months down the line and it's not working again! Hope this helps. Lelly2003
