When you use headphones, a switch usually engages to silence the internal speaker. Try plugging/unplugging the headphones a few times and let me know if that fixes it. B)

I would try turning it all the way off leaving for 30 seconds then trying to turn it on again if that doesn't work then try taking to an electronic store and having an analysis done on it.
First, restart your tablet. A tablet is a computer, and any computer needs a reboot every few days. Second, check the volume settings. You may be able to increase the volume and hear just fine. If your speaker is bad, you could use a bluetooth speaker or headphones to listen to sound. Also, try different content, sometimes videos do not have sound. I hope this helps.
Sometimes the app you're using has it's own sound control that overrides the device sound setting. Look in the app for sound settings, eg audiobooks apps often have a separate setting for volume and this is the one that you need to adjust.
First thing to check is your settings for sound. Go into settings and click on sound . The options are there. Make sure it's not on mute or something similar. Try changing the setting. Next is plug in your earphones in the jack. If that works then your jack is open after you take the jack out. If none of this works then a connection to your internal speaker has come loose or off.

If you recently installed new content that could be the cause if there were an issue with the content. Otherwise your screen, connections, and/or component(s) inline are more then likely bad. HI baring 16 listen You can get do a hard reset on the Samsung tablet. I must warn you that if you do a hard reset on the tablet you will lose all of your data. Next if your hearing a fan sound in the tablet. The tablet it self may be struggling to do simple operations on it. Where did you buy the tablet from. The steps to doing a hard reset on the tablet are as follow. 1 You need to hold both the power button and menu home key buttons at the same time. You will see the reboot screen come up. DO a wipe user information on it. It will begin wiping the tablet. You will have to reset set up the tablet after it is finish.If you still hear the fan sound take it back to the place of purchase for an exchange. Hope this helps
Sound issue can be related to driver, sound settings or hardware itself. If you tell me more about the issue an I will give you step by step solution. Check if device manager shows the Sound device?
