Bad Bulb? I have the same tv (WD65732) and same issue. I just replaced my bulb 2 days ago. It didn't work right away but with reseating the lamp box it did work for about 2 days. It now will not give me video. It does not give me any yellow or red lights however. It does power up the fan, it then clicks rapidly (like an arcing sound coming from the lamp) for a couple of seconds and the fan powers down. It repeats this process 3 times and shuts off. If the louder fan sound is the balast, that seems to be working but the light doesn't turn on. I find it hard to believe my brand new bulb is bad already? Test your error code by holding menu and input button on the tv for 5 seconds. The lights will flash a certain amount of times (my case 6) then a pause and it will flash again (my case 6 again) thus giving 66. If it flashes 3 times pauses then 6 times it's a 36 error code. My error code is 66 (lamp unavailable) Here is the list of codes I found. I don't know if this applies to all Mitsubishi DLP tvs but here it is anyway: Press[ing] the front panel ?INPUT? and ?MENU? buttons at the same time, and holding for 5 seconds, activates the Error Code Mode. The LEDflashes denoting a two digit Error Code, or indicating no problem has occured since the last Initalization. Note: The front panel buttons must be used, NOT those on the Remote Control. ? The number of flashes indicates the value of the MSD (tens digit) of the Error Code. ? The flashing then pauses for approximately 1/2 second. ? The LED then flashes indicating the value of the LSD (ones digit) of the Error Code. ? The Error Code is repeated a total of 5 times. Example: If the Error Code is ?23?, the LED will flash two times, pause, and then flash three times. The following might be of interest: 12 No Error found 32 Lamp cover is open. Lamp turns Off while the TV is playing. 34(1) (Lamp failure) (Lamp Enable signal from engine is lost) 35 DM fan failed. (73'' only) 36 Lamp ballast fan failed. 37 Engine (DLP) fan failed. 38 Lamp temperature abnormally high. 39 DMD temperature abnormally high. 42 Lamp fan failed. 44 Check for disconnected DVI cable between PWB-DM and Engine. 46 DT connector (DMD Temperature sensor) disconnected. (73'' only) 47 Temperature of DM is too high. 48 Engine power supply short is detected. 57(2) Ballast communication problem (ballast to chassis) 58 Signal Short is detected 59 DM short is detected 61(3) No LAMP-EN output from the engine to the ballast Lamp did not turn on at P-ON sequence 66(4) (No Lamp inserted) (Disconnected cable between ballast and lamp) (Lamp-Enable goes to DM but not to Ballast)

The pins that protrude into the lamp compartment have a tendency to get out of alignment where the lamp will only make partial contact. It sounds like what youre describing.

I have a samsung HLR6167WX/XAA dlp tv. I replaced the bulb, it worked for 1 day and didn't turn on the next day; no lights, no noises, nothing. So then I just replaced the ballast, still nothing.

3rd lamp purchased within 2 yrs

There is a slight chance that you might have an issue with a defective ballast, I mean 3 lamps in 2 years, it's too much. The best way to go here is replacing the ballast, that might solve the issue.

Panasonic PT50LC14 Power issue

We have a PT-50LC14. We replaced the lamp 6 months ago with a TY-LA1000 bulb we bought from a company online (not directly from Panasonic) and it worked for 6 months. Then the TV started turning off on it's own...sometimes it would not come back on for an hour or so. We called the lamp company and we luckily had 1 day left on our 6 month warranty!! They sent us a replacement bulb and the TV would never power on. It would try to power up, but the bulb would never ignite. The power light would flash and then the lamp light would flash every 5 seconds. I had a friend that has the same type of TV and she ordered her bulb directly from Panasonic. I borrowed her lamp and it powered right up. We then called the online company and they sent us yet another replacement bulb, and I tried it today and it works. It seems like these TVs are very particular about the type of bulb used. Next time, we will be ordering ours directly from Panasonic and just paying the extra $100. We have been without our big screen for 2 very long months! I had called a local tv repair shop, called Panasonic directly, and read through countless internet forums, and I thought we were going to have to replace the ballast or get a ballast repair kit and start messing with the circuit board.

Lamp failure indicator

I had the same issue when replacing my lamp for the first time. I replace just the bulb with the Phillips replacement bulb. After installing the power down issue started and it would take up to 7 attempts before the TV would stay on with a picture.

Since I never had this problem until i replaced the bulb i decided to send the new bulb back and replace it with a difference one. In my opinion replacement parts are never made to the same standard as original OEM parts. This TV is definitely very temperamental in regard to the bulbs.

When the second replacement bulb arrived I decided to not only replace the bulb I also cleaned the connector plug in the cartridge with a QTip and alcohol. I did the same for the plug receptor in the TV.

When I replaced the bulb i insured the the top of bulb lettering was facing the handle of the cartridge so when you put the cartridge back in the TV the top of the bulb would be facing you.

I also cleaned the entire inside of the TV where the cartridge is inserted including the screws.

Once I did all this the TV turned on the first time and has been working fine for three days now.

I do believe the replacement bulb position is very important as to how it heats up and determines when it needs to cool.

I hope this helps others with the same success i had because I really do not want to replace this TV and start replacing all the parts others have done with little to no success for this issue.
