Looking for a new laptop

You absolutely WILL NOT find a netbook with a good graphics card. There are USB graphics cards but unfortunately USB does not have a fast enough transfer speed to make anything more interesting than looking at pictures, or possibly watching movies intolerable. It truly depends on what you will be using the netbook for as to what kind of specs you will want on it.
If you have windows 7, ensure you have at least 2 gigs of ram, maybe three. Anything more will be excessive, and anything less will give you mediocre performance. The problem is netbooks are so small, that anything more than e-mail, document typing, solitaire, and pictures is truly going to make the machine lag. They can't put powerful hardware in them because there just isn't enough airflow, and they need to keep them lightweight.
If you are looking for something to play games on, you are looking at something considerably more expensive than a netbook, and are instead looking at a thin laptop. Those however will not only cost you a pretty penny, but will still not be able to handle the most intricate pieces of software.
As far as brand's, I have always enjoyed Asus and MSI for their netbooks and laptops. That is just a preference however, and everything will change according to preference depending on the beholder.

It's rather simple, you turn on your gaming console (DSi in this case,)then look for setting and goto wi-fi connectivity, turn it on and go out into the main menu, go into wi-fi sort of "app" thing and enjoy but remember a DSi will only be good for looking up texts or something like that not rather good at playing games, why not just buy a laptop/desktop computer?

I recently purchased a new wireless card for my desktop, it was a Linksys 54g with speedbooster but after the switch the networks I was connecting to (Free wireless from my apartments) will no longer connect. The old card that I had was just an offbrand card which used the microsoft zero connection tool to configure, this new card attemps to use the software included and ive tried to switch between the two different connection configuration tools both can detect the routers but when trying to connect it does not even get to the aquiring access key stage. the router is not passworded so I guess I was just wondering can this new card not connect to the router maybe due to brands? possibly the router is belkin or something of that sort and this linksys card cannot connect? I had before gotten it to connect at the very good 54kbps or whatever the number is but it would not let me access internet and then said limited/no connectivity. I also tried to change the settings on my wireless card and set them to 802.11b only, 54g auto, 54g LRS or Performance but all had the same result, I switched the default channel to match that of the router as well still nothing.

All new laptop's come with an in-built Wi Fi card, that includes the less powerful webbooks and netbooks.

As far as i know the Caribbean has plenty of Wi Fi access and plenty of mobile (cell) phone masts, so getting an internet provider shouldn't be difficult for the person that your getting a laptop for.

As for the manufacturer that's up to you. You can shop around and see which laptops are coming in the top 5 for performance and stability.

Start by looking at manufacturers like Fujitsu Siemens and Acer.

If you decide to go with Dell make sure that the model is not having any problems like graphics and motherboard failures.
Dell are striving to sort this particular problem out but it is something to keep in mind.

looking at the specs for your Thinkpad i believe you can connect your AT&T PC card since it has a Type II interface

If it's true that it has heat problems with graphic card not add that option. My question why would want to buy a laptop that's having any heat problems graphic option or not I would look around a little more before I spent my money on a laptop that may have other heat problems down the road. I would want a system that had no problems like that.

Instead of looking to the laptop drivers, try looking for the monitor drivers. If there aren't any, then research the video card for the machine to see if the specs you have are wrong. If there aren't any drivers for the monitor, then the drivers at Toshiba's support site should work, since they don't, I'm going to say it's in the video card.

If all you're looking for is wireless internet within your home, then you can simply buy a wireless router off the shelf from Best Buy. However, a wireless router will only provide a range of a couple hundred feet, perhaps a couple of hundred yards. Essentially, it only provides internet access at a single fixed location. I'm getting the impression you're looking for something more.

If you're looking to have internet access wherever you go, no matter how far from home, you're going to need a subscription to wireless internet from a cellular provider such as AT&T or Sprint. They sell both internet access as well as the cards used to connect to the network, so check out their websites to explore your options.
