I press Power (on set or remote) and the Power light blinks green for almost 2 minutes then blinks red for one minute and goes out. I can hear a faint hum inside while the Power light is blinking. No other indicators show.
Sounds like the bulb is not firing. I have the 44 inch model. Like it too. It is normal for the power indicator to blink for a minute or two AFTER the set has been turned off from running. get a phillips or panasonic TY-LA1000 bulb or a P22H 120 watt one if you can remove the old one from the housing (not very hard to do).

There is an additional problem,
if the bulb had been replaced by a technician, call them back and ask for additional support, since they did not fix the problem.

km, I'm having the exact same problem,...lamp housing is secure and so are all covers. From my research the power button will flash yellow when the covers are not secure. This is not my first time at replacing the lamp,...but now, after replacement, powers green flashing, then red flashing, followed by lamp flash red every 5 seconds,...research continues.................

If the front power light is blinking three times then your TV has a problem with the convergence. You can get the correct replacement parts and full step by step photo instructions from www.TvRepairKits.com

Hello, this is Joseph, here in Phoenix AZ,
I can tell all of you how to repair the constant blinking light, on any TV that has this problem,
down to the board that is causing the problem and the parts. One thing, the lamp will never cause this problem. The problem is a booting up of the system. By replacing the lamp, you just allowed the TV a shorter striking time for the igniter in the lamp, this is a false indicator. This is also not always a capacitor problem, capacitors are the most common fix. I can explain how to power up you're TV, to check the lamp before you buy a lamp you do not need, and also check the light engine for operation.
I just made money on them. Boards are no longer available for these units, and PTS will only rebuild the electronic chassis for $350.00. Not the light engine!.

I have a 52" model. I changed the lamp a couple weeks ago after the screen showed a message about the lamp when the set was turned on.
The red Lamp indicator was lit for a while after the set had been off for a few minutes.
Thanks for your reply. I don't understand the "bulb is not firing" part. Do you mean there's not a good connection between the bulb and the connector?
By the way, this lamp is pretty new. I replaced it (myself) only a month or so earlier and it was working then. It just stopped and had these symptoms.
Just because the bulb is only a month old--does N OT mean it is not bad. I have PERSONALLY seem them die within 5 MINUTES after installation !! And by "firing" I mean the bulb is not "coming on", remember--these lamps are NOT anything like a normal incandescent bulb--but MUCH more like a streelight. The mercury-xenon gas inside must "conduct" in a proper amount befrore the light emission process begins. "firing" means this is taking place. d.
It IS possible that you have a bad ballast--but I have NOT seen one of these go bad--I have seen where someone THOUGHT one was bad in these models--but it was not. Pana ballasts n these sets are pretty good. ---but it was not.
