I have a Brother MFC 7340, Page info says copy 6304, Print 5326, page info 11686, but I am getting a message drum life ends soon. Print quality is perfect and toner is good. How do I turn off this message. Printer printed 10 pages perfectly today, not printing blanks.
The drum unit in this machine is a consumable that is separate from the toner cartridge. The expected life is 12,000 pages and the printer keeps a count of how many pages since the last counter reset. There is no chip or any other measuring device on the drum unit to report remaining life. You can reset the counter using the procedure for installing a new drum (in the user guide) at any time and just replace the drum as the print quality deteriorates.
The problem with this is the design. Each toner cartridge has a microchip on it, that counts the pages you print. The company has determined that you get x amounts of prints. Then you have to replace it, empty or not. This printers do not work the same way as an expensive professional business copier. In an pro style there is a spent toner cartridge that collects all of the wasted toner that is on the drum. On a small business/home style this spent toner goes back into the cartridge. There is no level indicator, even on the inkjet printer. They too, have a chip that says you have x amount of prints/cleaning cycles they can go through. Look up inkjet refill kits or inkjet cartridge programmer.

Press the Ink button -> Test Print -> then choose Print Quality -> the printer will then go through and print a series of small squares in each of the four colors in the shape of parallelograms. If you see any gaps in parallelograms then you will be asked asked to clean the cartridge, do so. -> Just keep repeating process until there are no gaps
Then I did an Alignment check right after the cleaning through pretty much same process:
Press Ink button-> Test Print -> then choose Alignment-> and make sure the patterns match to the closest number
