Hello, I have a Maytag Neptune MAH6700A that is dripping water out of the soap dispenser. It drips and puddles onto the drum and from there heads to the floor during agitation and spin cycle. Maybe a third cup per load...., very slow leak. Seems to discharge perfectly so I don't think it's backing up but I don't have a way to accurately measure the discharge rate. Doesn't drip during initial fill, actually seems to start during spin cycle, as if water's being blown back up the intake hose into the dispenser.... Any ideas?

Possible that you would have a tub seal leak if it is only noticable during spin cycle. Possible that it "drips" slightly while in agitation, but not enough to notice it. While in spin mode you have a lot more parts moving as well as a lot more water pressure on the seal itself. Pump could also be leaking, but highly doubtful since it would leak a constant amount at all times. Good Luck!!! Jim

Your water inlet valve is probably leaking by. If the water pressure is too, or if there is sediment build inside the valve, sometimes the solenoids will not close properly. Try cleaning the valve to see if this helps. If not, I would recommend replacing it. Depending on which valve you have, repairclinic.com has two listed for this model washer for $20 to $30. Let me know if this helps, or if you need further assistance.

Your washer can develop several types of leaks. You can track down a leak based on when it occurs:
During fill only
During drain and spin only
All the time
During fill only
If the washer leaks only during the fill cycle, check these:
During drain and spin only
A washer that leaks only during the spin cycle often has a leak in the main drain hose. Inspect the entire hose and correct any problem you find. Alternatively, the steel or plastic outer tubs can rust, split, or be punctured. This may be most visible during large loads and high water levels. If this happens, you may have to replace the entire outer tub--but that may not be an economical repair to make. Consult a qualified appliance repair technician for further details.
All the time
If the washer leaks all the time, check these:
