I have a leak from the bottom of my freezer.

IT seems to be coming from the front left edge corner. Dripping down the adjustment screw leg. I just cleared drain line so its not that again. This is another one. can't see where it is starting just where it shows up. I have looked all underneath and can't see its origin anywhere. Is there anything in the exterior wall or door that could leak?

SOURCE: same as 6-9-08 freezer ices up, frig won't cool

Not sure if this will help but I have/had a similar problem with my admiral side by side (approx 12 yrs old not sure of the model #)and I think I fixed it this morning..
At the back of the fridge compartment I removed the cover (covers the light and controls) the Freezer setting just seems to adjust a flap that sends cold air into the fridge.. around the flap was a mass of ice.. what seemed to be happening was as this 'vent' was blocked with ice no cold air entered the fridge and the temp stayed high and hence the stat did not cut out .. compressor running flat out 24/7..... I removed the ice and it now seems to be working better (2-3 hrs will see what its like when I get home from work..!)

SOURCE: Hi I have a Maytag fridge freezer GC2227CDFB

Your problems are exactally the same as mine. I have taken the freezer back panels off and fornd the elements blocked with ice, the upper and lower channels to the fridge are blocked with ice and obviously therefore no0 cold air is going the fridge, I have de-frosted the freezer and put back together and everything works great for 2 weeks when the same thing accurs. My settings for both fridge and freezer are on the lowest possible, but the wife does fill the freezer with too much food! I guess I need an expert in!!

SOURCE: The fridge was leaking water under the freezer

Hi Garth, did you clean out the drain hole where it goes into the catch pan? It will drain when the freezer goes into its defrost mode, this is where the water will come from. Try and use compressed air if available, or run hot water down the hole to clear out the line. This freezer may be stuck in defrost. Do this and see what happens. I will check back tomorrow.

How can I adjust an upright freezer door ?

Hello there,
It is always the feet and their adjustment and floor must be level
From the user guide it says

;The freezer must have all bottom corners resting firmly on
a solid floor. The floor must be strong enough to support
a fully loaded freezer.
NOTE:It is VERY MPORTANT for your freezer to be level in order to function properly. If the freezer is not leveled during installation, the door may be misaligned and not close or seal properly, causing cooling, frost, or moisture problems.
To level Upright Models:
After discarding crating screws and wood base, use a carpenter's level to level the freezer from front-to-back. Adjust the plastic leveling feet in front, half a bubble higher, so that the door closes easily when left halfway open. ;

That's where the drip pan is for the underside models, other than that it's likely a leaky door seal on that side or the case heater went out letting it sweat.

How to drop the front wheels on the refrigerator

You should be able to remove the plastic grill at the front bottom of the frig exposing the leveling screws which you can adjust without moving the frig.

Leaking from the front

I had same problem but different model #.
The part under the spray arm came lose and the gasket was hanging out. Causing it to squirt water right at the bottom of the door and leaking out. I took it apart put the gasket back in the groove, screwed it back down and is working great.

I have water in my refrigerator on the shelves and in some areas it is freezing?

Could be a clogged condensate drain. Since you did not give a model #, I will assume this has the freezer on top. When it goes into defrost, the water cannot go down the drain hose to the drain pan and accumulates as ice in the freezer, below the bottom liner and may drip into the fridge. Empty the freezer and open the fridge door. The open fridge door can help thaw the drain. Remove the screws holding the bottom of the freezer liner and remove the liner. If there is ice below it, the drain is clogged. Remove as much as possible by hand and then use a hair dryer to carefully melt the ice at the back of the freezer. Blot up any water from the melted ice and concentrate on clearing the 1/2" hole in the center back. That is the drain. When you think the drain is clear, check it with a large glass of hot water. This can be take some time. When done, reassemble, but also make sure the fridge is tilted to the back by adjusting the legs at the front bottom corners of the fridge. You may have to take the grill off the bottom of the fridge to do this. The legs screw down to lengthen them. Adjust them far enough down that the fridge door swings shut by itself. This will help the water down the drain before the fridge comes out of defrost, starts cooling and freezes it in the drain hose.

Our GE upright freezer door keeps opening on its own! Our food is starting to melt and the manual only talks about tightening the refrigerator door. What should i do?

Your refrigerator is leaning forward to far and you need to adjust the front legs so that it is slightly leaning back. This is why the doors are opening as they work by gravity. On the bottom left and right front corners of your refrigerator you should round pads with threaded legs screwed it the bottom of your refrigerator. You need to lean the unit back and adjust these out to raise the front of your refrigerator until the doors when opened will slowly shut on its own. A level comes in handy for leveling also.
