That mainly depends on the type of music you will be listening to. If you need clean, punchy bass, use a sealed box. For more growl, and louder bass, use a tube ported or slot ported box. I would not recommend a bandpass box for 15"s but they do make them. I have 2 kenwood 12"s in seperate slot ported boxes with a SPL 1500 watt amp, making about 149Db in a 93 Eclipse. Let me know if this helps :)

I have power akoustik 12"

If you sub is dual 4 ohm voice coil, you can get a 4000 watt amp (which will give you 1700 watts RMS at 2ohms). The model number is OW-BAMF40001D. Hope this helps.

Wireing two dual 4 ohm kicker cvr 15s on a memphis pr1000 at a 1 ohm load. I trying to get these kickers to hit harder. Do I need a bigger amp or what?

CVR series do not have large power handling capabilities.
Your subs will melt before the amplifier is used to its full potential.
If the subs arent in a ported enclosure - do that.
They both handle 500w rms - so the pr1000 is perfect.
bass response is all in the enclosure!

I have kikcer amp 1500.1 is workin good for one year whith 4 memphis 15'' and one day just goin in the protection mode when i turn the radio up can you help me please

sounds like your amplifier does not have the power that your subs need check the rms out put on your amplifier and check how much rms your subs can handle if your amplifier has less rms power then your subs theirs probaly your problem that what happens when it kicks in to protection you could in up fring your out put chips in your amplifier not trying to say that the problem but check your rms power make sure the amp and subs can handle the same power

When I bridge the BAMF 2200/2 Power Acoustik amp it cuts off

Hello munchisfun,

I'd suspect that the amp is operating into too low of an impedance and going into protection.

The 2200/2 is not rated to drive a 2ohm load when bridged (most 2-channel amps aren't) and when you connect 2 4ohm subs in parallel, the load is 2ohms. I'd run one sub from each channel.

Hope this helps.

Wiring

provided that the memphis studio series is still 1 ohm stable you would wire each coil of each speaker like this : posive to positive negative to negetive on the speaker using 2 jumper wires then run 1 coil from each subs positive and negative the input on the amp that amp would see a 1 ohm load from both speakers as each speaker would become a 2 ohm load. from experience, memphis does not make an amplifier that is brutal enough on power for L7 15" solos, i have the st 1600 d amp running only 2 dual 4 ohm 10 L5's and it is barely enough power for them. For less money than your 2 subs cost retail I can get you brand new matching 2000 watt true competition rated and proven 1 ohm power and 2 subs that would physically fit in your current box, i would however recommend a very very large box for 2 15" squares. you can email me at [email protected] , my advice and system designs are always free even if you do not buy thru me. I am usually 1/3 to 1/2 what retail is with full warranties and i can drop ship anywhere in the U.S.A.

Wiring the coils together

For each sub, tie the DVCs in parallel ("+"s together, then "-"s together). This will make the subs look like 2 ohms to the amp. Then, put one sub on each channel of the amp. That will put about 280W rms onto each sub, the max for the amp.

Nedd help with my car audio

Here's your best bet. Crutchfield magazine has THE best site for training. The link to the page for you is http://www.crutchfield.com/learningcenter/car/subwoofers_wiring.html
You will need to know how many voice coils your sub has, how many ohms and how many channels you amp has, then click the appropriate link. Good luck and don't forget to leave "FixYa" for feedback.
