Had same problem that went away after replacing each of the drum roller wheel/bearing assemblies. (repairclinic.com) Not the easiest of jobs removing & replacing the drum, but a lot cheaper than a new machine.
yes--may hav damaged valve guides-bearings oil pump and on--too much pres bad as too little--does it run now--take the reciept and show suplube--or sueum in small claims court
Try replacing the Drum Unit, this is a problem I have encountered many times as a service technician. most recently I had one that was at 89% remaining and every time the unit begins the print process it makes a high pitched squeal.
if all the L.E.D.S light, and then the drum and ready l.e.d.s light then your printer needs a new laser unit. Not worth fixing. If the sound is high pitched that confirms it. Good luck.
MAKE SURE YOUR "PITCH SELECTOR" SETTING MATCHES THE PRINT WHEEL INSTALLED. THE PITCH SELECTOR IS THE LOWER OF THE 3 SLIDING SWITCHES ON THE L.H.S. ;...THE PRINT WHEEL WILL HAVE THE PITCH SIZE INDICATED ON THE WHEEL ITSELF.
havinga discription of the noise would help. but if your printer is making a noise its probably the fuser wiper because of the excess toner of printing black pages. black pages are cause by no negative charge being applied to the drum of the toner cartridge for transference. change the high voltage power supply and your problem should go away
Did the noise start right after you replaced a toner? If so it must be a bad toner which is causing the gears to grind. If this noise happened out of the blue then it might be a bad fuser drive gear which is the gears that connect the fuser to the machine.
Looks like the printers internal electrical components have gone. if there is a tranformer in your printer then that is making that noise. or else even the motors might also be gone.
my strong suggestion take it to any authorized service personnel
I had a high pitch noise, didn't sound like it came from the "underside". Turns out it was one of fans that had little chips in the blades? My Audi dealer replaced it, and it's fine now.
