From what you have described your LED indicator will light for water and crushed option but not for the ice option on your Frigidaire refrigerator. This could be a possible issue with the light on your display. Unfortunately you are unable to change out the light and the whole display would need to be exchanged. If you need assistance replacing the board I would recommend seeking help from a professional technician. -Matt
If your icemaker is producing ice, but it is slow, there are 2 likely explanations. 1. Temperature. Water freezes at 32 deg, but the icemaker won't eject the ice until it gets below 10 degrees. If you always had good ice output and all of a sudden it has slowed down, you're temperature is a little higher than ideal. Check for a door seal not making good contact or try dropping the temp in the FREEZER side a couple degrees 2. New model. Most new refrigerators make ice much slower than older models to meet energy efficiency guidelines. This is not a repairable issue.
Good day,
When an ice maker harvests a batch, the next batch will be determined by a thermostat embedded in the ice maker body.
When it resets the next harvest will occur, thus determining the frequency of harvest cycles. Thus production.
The first thing to determine is the size of the cubes. If they have become slowly undersized, it could be the water valve's diaphragm starting to swell. If that is the case, then replacing the valve is the only solution. It cannot be serviced.
The second thing is the water feed from the house. The line, and even more so the fittings can start to corrode, slowing the water flow down, producing the same effect described above.
If it has a water filter, that as well can cause this same issue. Lastly, the temperature of the freezer has a major effect on production. You should check the freezer temperature with an accurate thermometer. It should be at, or very close to zero.
Any temperature above that will slow production.
Although rare, the thermostat in the ice maker can go out of calibration causing slow cycles. Impossible to test, it is one of your last options.
I am assuming the water pressure in the house is normal. Houses with low water pressure can have severe low ice production.
Hi: Not knowing how long it's been hooked up... Ice production can take as long as 72 hrs to start. Usually 24 to 48 hrs. The freezer also has to be stable at 0 degrees F to start producing ice. The tray mab be full but it wont dump untill 0 degrees F. Another thing is it's human nature to keep opening the freezer to see if Ice has been made. This justs dumps the cold air out and will slow the ice production. Just because your food is frozen dosn't mean it is at 0 degrees F. Ice cream should be rock hard. Try setting your freezer colder and allow 24 hrs for it to stabilize. This is the best try and it usually works, before calling a tech. I hope this helps, Jeff
The way I understand how Hoshizaki machines work, the model number is usually what the unit will produce, in pounds of ice.
Their manual states: "Approximate production/ 24 hours @ 70 degrees air/ 50 degrees water (incoming)"
So, yours should be producing 450 pounds a day, approimately.
Since I can not pin point your exact model, I found one that is close. It states: "Ice Production per cycle: 6.6 pounds, 360 pcs."
Again, it is not you exact machine. Their web site does not show this model either. So this is the best info I can get for you.
Hope this helps.
generally low ice production can be attributed to a couple of things. first and most importantly is temperature problems in order for the ice maker to pmake ice at a consistant rate the temp has to be 0 farenheight if it is not it causes slow production. altho you may have the temps set low enuf you need to check to be sure the coils underneath the unit are clean. also monitor door openings and heavy usage.
The next thing that can cause slow ice production is a bad temp sensor in the ice maker itself. this part is replaceable and is inexpensive usually less than 20.00 dollars.
One last thing that can happen is the icemaker may be cycling twice to get enough water to make a full mold of ice this is very rare and you would notice occasional hollow ice cubes or very small cubes.
Hope thi info helps you out thanks Peyton
there appears to be a problem with 1. the temperature needs to be turned down to produce Ice. also is the fill tube frozen where the water goes into the ice maker sometime you have to thaw it to get the ice out of it and the reset the maker too. Let me know if this helped and if it did not don't rate and ask another question from me and I'll be galad to help. If it did would you please rate this solution please. Thanks for using FixYa.
Had the same problem. This allows 12 seconds for the tray to fill. If your water filter is the least bit dirty or the water supply line is clogged a bit, you will get an incomplete fill and the cubes will be hollow, mishapen, or, in my case, all won't eject properly. Replace your filter. If that doesn't do it then use a shop vac with any kind of modification to it that will fit into the supply line and **** out the blockages. Hope this helps.
