It is a photo interrupter type check if the feeler is broken or misplaced in the waste toner box at left lower end near the gear

Defective toner pump. call a tech

- Toner Suction Motor Replace Alert.
- The total operation time of the motor exceeded 600 hours.
- The toner suction motor has reached the end of its service life.

- You can try rest it, after some time it will start to print light prints.
- So you will need to replace it.
- You can clear the code in Service Mode.
- To enter into Service Mode you need to follow the next procedure:
- Press the following key in the following order:
1. Press Clear Modes [yellow key] .
2. Press 1 - 0 - 7 [ with the blue keypad numbers ] .
3. Press and hold down Clear key [ C key] for 5 seconds.
(after release of the C key, the Touch Screen will change)
- On the touch screen press the [Cop SP] .
- Press the following number with the blue keypad:
[ 2 - 9 - 7 - 3 - 0 - 0 - 1 ] then press [ # ] .
- On the right side of the touch screen should write the following:
[ Toner Suction Motor Operation Time ] .
- Press [ 0 ] with the blue number keys, then press [ # ] .
- After doing all of this re cycle the machine by turning it off,
wait for 10 second, and then turn in on with the main power switch
[Red Power Switch] .

after some time, or maybe even immediately after this,
the machine will start to make light prints.

REPLCE THE FUSE ON TONER UNITE BY NEW ONE 0,1MA

Normally the copier displays when it is low.

maybe an ic chips or an hp toner bias plate that contact the toner cartridge

If you've had the machine one year and not replaced the toner cartridge, you will get a prompt to replace it (it's a sales thing for Brother). And you will continue to get that prompt until you do; or until you reset the lever on the cartridge. Problem is that the 'original' cartridge doesn't have that lever with gear assembly, so you have to buy it from someone else ($10).

I also tape over the little windows on the toner cartridge so I never get a low toner alert. I want to use up all the toner I can before adding more.

But the first thing to do with any toner alert is to remove the cartridge and shake it back and forth (left and right).

Other than that, we would need more info on what your lights are indicating the problem is.

Probably a blockage in the toner supply hose, or defective pump. Either way, it will need service.

Did you take the strip off ,sometimes takes awhile to add
