Not printing all of the letters
SOURCE: Printing problems
Someone else may have an exact diagnosis on this, but here is one possibility: The printhead home sensor may be defective. This sensor, either an optical device or mechanical switch senses when the head is in the home or leftmost position. This information is used to determine start point of print. A mechanical switch will be more prone to problems, but often fixed by cleaning it. Again, someone else may have actually seen and diagnosed this problem, and could give the definitive answer.

What driver are you using for this printer? Try loading a Epson LQ1050 driver and try again.

SOURCE: Alarm light Microline 320 Turbo 9 pin printer - won't print
We swapped out the printer for another one we had in the office that was working. The new printer also got the alarm light. From that we concluded that it was a bad serial card. We swapped the serial card from another printer, and the original printer started working perfectly. Now we just need to find out where we can purchase another serial card, as we have no more 'spares' around here.
