If you take your pipe off the hot side of the water heater, there is a check valve in the pipe that is stubbed up. They vary in style, usually it is like a marble and it gets stuck. It is easier to replace the stub with a brass nipple and put the dielectric fitting back on it.
There is a restriction in the valve or the stop from supply is restricted, check stop at sink to make sure it is opened all the way,if it is then turn off water supply disconnect hot water to faucet take container open valve slowly to see if it is restricted,if that is open and water flow is good. Then it is in the faucet you must then disassemble hot side cartridge and see if there is some type of blockage if none visible the with hot side disassembled slowly open valve to see if you can flush out any foreign matter (note the way it is disassembled so you can reinstall exactly how if was taken out to avoid any reassembly problems).
It sounds like you have a foreign body in the hot line, turn off water both cold and hot disassemble handle assembly including springs and washers slowly turn on hot water to see if object will flush out,if not disconnect hot water supply to faucet the turn on water supply slow ly to see if object is in supply line.If that dosen't work you may have to call plumber it may be in supply stop or below it and you need a professional to handle that.
When recirculation pump is running, both hot and cold water lines have hot water. If other faucets have hot water in both lines, then that tells you the blockage is localized in furthest faucet supply lines. You may have to dissemble those supply lines and flush the sediment out.
make sure it is connected to the hot water line, run the hot water in the sink and after hot turn on d/w and make sure it also gets hot. there should be a water line connection from the hot water line normally under the sink and lead to the d/w. should be around 140 degrees
Unit needs a new "dip tube" It is cracked and allowing cold in water to mix with all hot water resulting in "lukewarm water". Need plumbing skills to change out at cold inlet top of heater, pull out old,buy new at hdepot 5.99 reinstall.
Removed intake water valve assembly and found a piece of plastic wedged in intake port preventing valve from closing. Piece of plastic was old filler tube from old hot water tank which disintegrated and got into hot water pipes in home. Similar pieces of plastic have affected water mixer valves at various sinks in home and have also plugged aeration screens.
