The high/switch assembly unit is loose. How do I tighten it?

Hey Deb,
By High/switch you mean the switch assembly on the handlebar? There are two screws under it, tighten them...If you mean the actual switch inside the assembly on the handlebar..,,there is not much you can do,,,just replace it.

Raise handlebars up 1"

Yeah, you'll most likely need to get a new stem with the rise. You can also get handlebars that have a rise to them. If your steering tube has space you can add some spacers under the stem but that seems pretty uncommon for a bike shop to assemble a bike with excess spacers on top of the stem.

Throttle not snapping back to idle position on 1998 Harley road king classic. I have lube both cables and adjusted them, still won't snap back. Thanks for your help.

You need to take the entire throttle control assembly off the handlebars and disconnect the cables from the carburetor. Check each cable for free movement. If you have a frayed cable, you will never get it to work correctly so check the cables. Now when you go to put the assembly back together make sure you put some thin grease on the handlebar and inside the throttle sleeve before you slide it up on the handlebar. Put white lithium grease in the area where the cables connect to the throttle sleeve the bolt the two halves of the switch housing together. Slide the switch and throttle assembly all the way up on the handlebars and then back it off about an 1/8" or so. This insures that the handlebar is not rubbing on the inside of the end of the throttle grip.

Hi, Not a novice in the assembly dept., but the Schwinn easy steer trike is a KILLER! Should I use the excuse that this is the 4th assembly I've done today? #!. Do the smooth-top screws hold the seat...

Take a little trip to www.schwinn.com They have instruction manuals, videos and most importantly a customer service line with someone that can walk you through their specific product.

It should not be that difficult for someone who is not a novice to put the trikes together, something is definitely wrong. Double check on the schwinn site that you have the correct assembly manual and parts list. You still have time, don't panic yet.

found a picture for you

the small piece in the middle goes on the bottom of the bolt so when you tighten it, it makes a wedge and holds everything in place

My tail lights stay on, why

Try this, Loosen the two bolts that holds the front master cylinder onto the handlebars. Slide the master cylinder as close to the right handlebar switch housing as possible. If that doesn't extinguish the light, your front brake light switch is probably broken.

To change the switch, you'll have to open the right handlebar switch housing by removeing the two bolts that holds it together, take the throttle and idle cables loose and get the lower housing loose from the handlebar. The switch is held into the inner face of the housing by a single screw. Take the switch loose and desolder the two wires leading to it. Replace the old switch with a new one and solder the original wires to the new switch. Reassemble the throttle assembly and the switch housing. Check the throttle for proper operation. Make sure the throttle "snaps" shut when you release the throttle grip. Improper assembly or adjustment of the throttle cables can cause the loss of control of the motorcycle resulting in serious injury or death.

Good Luck

I need help assembling the front forks/handlebar assembyl

The front fork slide in through the head. You must make sure that you have the headset ( a ballbearing assembly) in place. Not rusted. Make sure there is some grease in it .The pin of the fork slips through. The handlebar fits differently depending on the bicycle. Basic models fit directly on. More sophisticated models have a t-piece . There are shorter and longer extensions. They fasten with allen keys.It is actually easy to assemble.
