My husband was messing with the menu, accidentally chose the child lock operation instead of closed captioning. i don't know if the TV turned off then or if he turned it off later but now he's telling me it won't turn on. we unplugged it, plugged it back in and nothing.i pressed different combinations of the buttons in front but nothing works.it's a magnovox27ms343s 27" that i got in 2003 from walmart. thanks if you can solve this problem.you'll save a TV and a marriage! LOL!
I have a beatrix g-hanz tv that is blocked
I can't find back the remote and manual, and due to a bad manipulation my tv's buttons don't work, the screen says "child lock" and i can't find how to display this child lock... maybe a button combinated with off/on but... please help!!!
I found out on line in the owners manual that if u still have a remote control that came with the tv, u press the tv/av button and enter button at the same time to disable the child lock. New problem: u can't do it with a universal remote, even if its programmed to a magnavox tv. I called the 800 # to buy a remote control and the rep told me that it cost $50, not including the shipping and handling. so my husband put the tv in the car, brought an extension cord and took it to a local tv repairman who was kind enough to use his remote to remove the child lock for us. finally someone who is helpful for free. thanks to all the nice people out there!
Instructions
Locate
the manual for your television. Though slightly embarrassing, accidentally
turning on the child lock to a TV is a common problem. The section In the
manual about how to set the child lock feature will also explain how to unlock
it.
Try
a few "universal methods" for unlocking the child lock. Some
televisions have a universal code built in for disabling the child lock --no
matter what your code is. A common code is "0000."
Unplug your television for a few minutes. The internal battery of the TV is what helps remember what your code. If the TV is unplugged for an extended period of time, it clears the internal memory, which in turn will reset your child lock code.
Hi,
As long as you remember the "CODE" The child lock on a TV is a wonderful thing.
The lock sometimes causes unwanted
trouble--if it gets accidentally turned on and you don't know the code,
you can find yourself unable to fully enjoy the full range of available
television stations. Please apply the following possible 5 different solutions taht verified by different users and than hopefully you'll be back to watching
regular TV ....
