Our washer is making a loud noise and jumping all around when spinning. It has also been leaking. Is it going out or can it be fixed? It is 7 years old.
Could be drum bearings gone Quite a big job hence costly with around 3 hours labour plus parts, some models need half drum as the bearings are loaded in here, leak could be door boot seal at 7 yrs old not sure if worthwhile as its about the end of its working life.Good luck
Thanks! Looks like we should get a new one :(
That happend to mine a few years ago. I took the front panel off and all it was that the shocks that hold the drum from doing that. I just put it back into its holding place. It is so simple. I have fixed my washer all by my self a few times already because I hate to pay someone to fix something that is so easy and charge a ton of money.

I just had to have my barrons replaced in my washer on the spin cycle it sounded like plane taking off. I dont know about yours but mine was loud, you probl. have the same problem. get a technician to come and check it out, all these machine's are hard to work on so let professional take care of it. if you need me to find someone in your area please just let me know.
thanks,

The noise could be caused by the main bearing going out in the rear outer tub that the inner basket is supported by. This is a expensive repair and a complete tear down of the unit. If you want to make sure of a noise you have to run unit partially disassenble (with top and or back off) and listen.
Keep kids away when you do this.
if it makes the same noise when in agitation it might only be a stretched belt.
Taking the front lower panel off gives you access to the pump if you want to listen to that
Hi,
When my washer did that, I found that the shocks that hold the tub were bad...
Check out this tip I wrote about the noise and vibration that front load washers can make..

there is a number of reasons a machine will do this ......1 uneven load.....2 the wash is all heavy items hence not evenly around the drum . in spin machine will jump around .......3 the weight/s have become loose or broken away and need to be replaced....4 the spider on the inner drum is broken ..if so check for any other damage before you buy the spider good luck
