Won't connect to wifi

Connection just stops and then asks for a password. Only password is a rediculousl 26 character one that makes no difference. I have powered off and then on again which also makes no difference. Settings says my wifi is locked. How do I unlock it when I didn't ever put a lock on it?

When you get a router, it would usually come with a password, automatically locking the WiFi for added protection. You can find the password on the router. Since you said that putting the password makes no difference, it could be because the password was not input correctly, where you have to put the exact capitalization of a letter.

SOURCE: my IPad is asking me for a password to connect to

It would be the password that you use to connect your pc to your wireless network. If you have not changed it since you got your supplied wireless modem it will be on the bottom of the modem along with your user_ID. Or it will be in the documentation that came from your ISP. Hope this helps.

ONN tablet Google locked

If it is connected to WIFI,
Go to settings on your phone, go to connectivity, go to WiFi and then reset your password from there. If your Tablet asks you for a new password, then enter 12345 because that is the default WiFi password for all Android devices. After that, you can enter a new password and re-create your WiFi password.

How do I connect to Wi-Fi they keep asking for a password

If they are asking for a password, then the wifi you are attempting to connect to is a secured wifi network. Only unsecured networks can be connected to without passwords. If you are given the password by the network administrator, and enter it when asked, it will connect you to the network. Otherwise, you are attempting to hack a network that you are not authorized to use.

My Kobo Arc 32, asked for a password, when I tried to try the WiFi. I don't remember setting a password. So, now it's asking for an guest password.

It is not the Kobo that has set the password, rather the router for the wifi that you are trying to connect to. You just need to know the password for the router to let you connect. If a router has no wifi password, it is considered unsecured and ANYONE can access it. So most all routers use password protection. If it is YOUR wifi system, and you no longer know the password, you can change it if you access the router setup for wireless and change the password. Be advised, however, that all devices that connect to the wifi will need to change their passwords as well or not be connected. If it is not your wifi you are trying to connect to, then you need to obtain the wifi password from that wifi system's administrator.

My device has stopped working. I can't get on wifi -- don't remember my password.

Your first answer is good. If you need to find the existing password, open your browser and type 192.168.1.1 . Use the password to open the router home page. Try "admin, admin". If that gets you onto the home page, try "Wireless settings", look for Wireless status. There will be three types of security i.e. . WEP, WPA2, etc. The one with several characters following it contains the password. Put this password into the receiving device.

My 10 in. tablet keeps going off wi fi and you can fix it but it still keeps going off.

Marie,

Make sure that you're attempting to connect to the right WiFi hotspot. The tablet may be attempting to connect to a WiFi signal that different from what you expect (a neighbor's, etc.).

Once you're certain that your accessing the intended WiFi signal, attempt your password again. Depending on model tablet, you may be able to keep the password displayed as you type for review before entering to connect. If not, carefully review each character on screen after touching each to see that it is correct (not capitalized, or number or symbol instead). Backspace as needed to make corrections as needed.

After seeing that the WiFi password is being sent properly to the intended WiFi signal, you will connect.

Connection to Wifi

The connect button will only work if the key is the correct length, there is mainly a minimum of 8 characters for a passcode.
Double check the passcode to make sure you have typed it in correctly.

Why won't my kurio 7" tablet connect to wifi

I had this problem with my son's Kurio over Christmas and found that connecting to wireless in Kurio mode was impossible. If you go to the parental mode and click the switch to Android button there are settings for the wifi in the Android platform settings. You can set up there and then go back to the Kurio safe mode for the children to use. Hope this helps...
