SOURCE: dryer makes loud squeaking noise when spinning

there are two possibilities for this question. 1) there is an idler roller that give the belt the correct tension . unplug dryer and remove idler roller see if it spins freely if not replace it @0 there are two drum rollers in back of machine thatdrum rides on remove drum it's self explanitory how to remove drum and very easy also. you can roll these wheels and check for free movement visually check them ,one or both should be worn out or the bearing in the wheel has failed before putting old or new wheels back sand the wheel shafts to get any gunk off them and that's about the only thing that can make a dryer squeek

SOURCE: When our dryer is turned on it has a very high

It's noisy If your dryer is noisy, check these:

Rollers
Idler pulley
Glides
Rear drum bearing
Blower wheel
Rollers Many dryers use rollers or wheels to support the clothes drum. When these rollers are worn, they can be noisy. You should replace the whole set of rollers at the same time.

Idler pulley Dryers have a tension or idler pulley that keeps tension on the main drive belt. When it's worn, it can be noisy. When that happens, don't lubricate it. Just replace it.

Glides Many dryers use nylon or plastic glides at the front of the clothes drum for support. When these are worn, they can be noisy. When that happens, replace them.

Rear drum bearing Some dryers support the clothes drum in the rear with a center spindle instead of rollers. The spindle may be a ball-and-socket type support or a shaft through a sleeve. When the components are worn, they may squeak, squeal, or rub. You can't repair them. Just replace them when they're worn.

Blower wheel Your dryer's blower wheel pulls air over the heat source, through the clothes drum, and past the thermostats, then pushes it out the exhaust duct. The blower wheel, which is usually plastic, may wear out over time. But if it's noisy, it may simply be clogged with lint. Clean the blower and test to see if the dryer is still noisy. If it is, you probably need to replace it.

SOURCE: My White-Westinhouse dryer is making alot of sounds

ALWAYS UNPLUG YOUR DRYER BEFORE STARTING ANY REPAIRS
Your problem sounds like drum rollers have flat spots on them or in need of lubrication
If you have a front loading machine, Remove the electrical console that holds the timer switch, start switch, etc. from the top of the dryer. Be REAL CAREFUL not to knock any of the wires off of the timer switch. Then remove the top of the dryer. Remove the front of the dryer. This will expose the drum and belt. Remove the drum and belt and this will expose the drum rollers, idler arm pulley and motor. Now is a good time to check the belt condition for wear. Be sure to note the route of the belt, this will come in handy when you go to reinstall the belt. Check your drum rollers for flat spots or wear, if they have flat spots or wear on them replace them. If the drum rollers don't have flat spots or wear on them then they probably only need lubrication. Lubricate the shaft of the rollers with a good grade of machine oil such as 3 in One oil. Reassemble the dryer, plug back in. This should solve your noise problem. I will include these two websites for parts and further help: http://www.partselect.com/ http://www.appliancepartspros.com/index.aspx Both also have chat assistance 24/7. Good Luck, I hope this helps

SOURCE: DRYER SQUEAKS

That is caused by lack of lubrication of the REAR bearing for the drum. It will have to be removed and grease will need to be added. If the machine is run without this, a new bearing will have to be purchased. If the squeeling just started, the bearing is ok - you just have to get the job done very soon. While in there, they should clean the lint out. They should also lube the idler pulley for the belt. The idler pulley is often forgotten, and this item should be lubed every time the machine is serviced. Good luck.

Hi, I have a frigidaire front load washer, model FTF2140ESO, that is making a high pitched screeching noise when it enters into the final spin cycle. The noise ramps up in volume as the drum spins faster....

Some times screws can work their way out near the drum and rub against the drum causing the squeak. You might have to take off the back of the washer and see if there is anything loose contacting the drum.

Dryer makes a high pitch squeaking noise

This could be a dry support bearing, a dried out drum seal or something stuck in the drum seal. If I could hear it I would know better where to start. Listen and try to locate the source from the above list. It could be the belt but that is not as common.

My dryer is making a loud squeaking noise when it

All dryers have to have a way of allowing the tumbler (that's the thing you put the clothes in) to turn freely, not all of them are the same tho, some use bearings, some use slides, others use rollers. Over time these rollers will need to be oiled, the slides will get thin and start metal to metal contact causing a noise, The rear bearings will then start to make their way to china and cause the tumbler to rub into the heating element and OUCH! These things will cause the motor to prematurely DIE! Its best to examine the dryers, rollers, and slides when you first hear the noise, but who does?
