the monitor if the PC is dead or in speed mode, shuts of in 15 to 90 seconds, all do, every one. the monitor has self sleep, all do. everyone ever made did. even back to CRT days.


and the OSD button goes dead after. that. too. fooling the untrained.
here is the first tests, NO PC connected at all
power on see power light glow correct color
then see Viewsonic splash screen push the menu button now. quickly, if button dead hold it for 10 to 15 second to reverse the button lock now, see OSD works.

if you test the monitor on a good PC not in sleep mode the but working PC, your monitor is ok.

this monitor is very very old, 2004?
it has CCFL back lamps not LED<
and all fully used CCFL lamps are now no good, used 8yrs a day at 5years are no good. that is why we use LED back lamps now.
this is what they do: all do , used fully.
1: goEs dead forever, (vast did)
2: INTERMITTANT . (BINGO YOU ) OR INVERTER DEAD.
3: DIM BULBS (like me. lol)
4 TURN YELLOW FOR WHITE screens.
5: STROBEs. (FLASHes)

AND A VERY EXPENSIVE SURE, THAT. AND LABOR.

change the input to hdmi 1 or 2,if that doesnt work,hook it up to something else with different cord

Hi, According to your problem, Check the adjust switches and readjust the monitor first. You have to repair the PCB of the monitor. Better if you can replace the PCB of the monitor.

just google search the model number of the power supply.
I would go to ebay and look for it there.

Very carefully. I only would do it after you have verified the warranty is expired per Viewsonic. If it is OOW, then you can call them for a service manual that contains schematics, troubleshooting flowcharts, etc.

Press OSD menu button for 3 seconds or more to unlock it.

check u'r degusing section u'r degusing is not working if it works then change CRT

First thing you need to do is figure out where the problem is originating from. The monitor or computer?

When the lines appear, try the following:

1. Press the [1] on the monitor to bring up the menu. Do the lines appear on top of the menu?

2. Change the input. Do the lines appear on a different input?

If you answered "yes" to any of the question above, then your unit will need to be serviced.

If you answered "no" then test the monito on a different PC and verify if the problem follows the monitor. Also, try using a different video cable to rule out a bad cable.

Do the lines only appear when you are playing a game? Does it only appear on certain games? What resolution and refresh rate do you run the monitor at?
