Hi Jo, if the size, quality, and the type of pic suits your needs do what kevin said, just copy, and paste it, but if the pic has to be altered to be compatible with the end use, do this
While in iPhoto bring up the pic you want to transfer, click on file (in the bar at the top of the screen) choose "export", it will give you the option to change size, type, name, quality, etc..
when your done click on the export icon, and if your flash drive is plugged in it will come up as an option ;-)

When I import from the camera to iphoto, duplicates of every picture import

I have the same problem!!! Every single time I import from my Nikon D90 I get duplicates of each photo on Iphoto. It never happened in 4 years, just recently does happen. Is it a setting from camera or from Iphoto? How to avoid this, without having to create separate folders on desktop as mentioned above. I just want to plug the USB and download on Iphoto without doing anything else. It gets frustrating as I usually download thousands of photos each month.

)cannot download download canon IXUS430 camera onto my newMac

Connect your camera to the mac using the provider USB cable, then turn on your camera. If iPhoto does not open automatically, then open it, from the Dock or your apps folder. If a dialog displays, asking if you want to use iPhoto when you connect a camera, click yes.

iPhoto switches to Import mode, and displays your camera in the sources list. It can take a tad bit of time depending on the camera.

Hope it helps,

Cheers

Unable to download photos from Finepix z33wp to iphoto on Mac

Use a card reader to download to a folder you create on your desktop. Then, from there, send them to iphoto.

Cannot find the driver for mac for sony DPP-FP60

Export your photo from iphoto to a usb stick. Then stick that into the printer´s usb port. Use the menu of the printer to make any last corrections (size, brightness, borders etc). Works with both RAW and JPEG. Good luck. /Anders

Cannot download images to my apple mac

1) plug in the cable from the camera to the Mac USB port
2) Switch on the camera
3) iPhoto should open automatically. If it does not, go to Applications/iPhoto and double click this.
4) You can choose Import in iPhoto and this will copy them into the iPhoto library.

I have a macbook and i connect the usb cable to upload my photos, but the usb is not recognized do i need to download any software. Its says that mac autmatically recognized the camara

the Mac normally recognizes the camera and launches iPhoto.
Try launching iPhoto, then plug in the usb cable. Make sure the connections are tight on the camera end of the cable.

Video Format

If your computer has a SD card reader, you might be better off putting your memory card into your computer and just copying the data.

Have you made sure your iPhoto is up to date? Perhaps a new update caused this problem.. Maybe you should try an older version of the software. Also, you might want to try other software. (I think you are on a mac?), you might want to try the software that came with the camera, if it works on your computer.

Compatability?

I set the USB to PictBridge mode (press home button, then main settings). Now iPhoto recognizes the camera and I can import photos.

IPhoto doesn't recognize Sony MVC CD300

Even though Sony Mavica digital cameras are listed as compatible with iPhoto, the camera has to be set to Picture-Transfer-Protocol (PTP) before you can download. In addition, you will need to open Image Capture in the Applications folder. As soon as these steps are taken, the camera is recognized by iPhoto and all photos downloaded into Image Capture.
