I ain't so lucky I'm in the UK too!!!! Generally speaking the cost pf packing, shipping repair, at any level is well on the way to the price of the next more recent higher specification device. Judging by the way the Megapixels go up by the week seemingly, settling for a replacement camera is usually the best option. I had a cheap[old] Fuji come my way because it had gone blurred and blue - sure sign of a CCD failure as this was at some time the subject of a recall for the problem I checked out Fuji Their response was to say no longer repaired but has a 1/3 off a new camera when I quoted a reference number. That seems to be the way to go.

Take out the battery and put it back and than recharge again. Some times in case of G5 it happens that the camera battery is not properly charged and the indicator shows that its fully charged (i.e. Green light) In such cases battery need to be taken out and than put back again and recharged

SOURCE: Canon Ixus 75 not charging
The camera was working fine 2 days ago. Yesterday when I tried to switch it on, I assumed that the battery was flat so I charged it but when fully charged the camera still won't switch on. Please help! bob
This error is either a flash circuit or a lens error. One of the two need replacement.

Things to check first for a camera that won't turn on are battery contact points, and micro switches that are located on the battery and memory card doors. Troubleshooting tips on other things that need to be checked may be seen here. These tips won't work for every case, but they're worth a try.
