There is probably I tiny piece of paper stuck in the feeding line on that side. I would use a few hits with dustoff and check close for a scrap of paper

After clearing a paper jam, it now jams everytime I use it and crinkles the paper.

for this model, the drum unit have to be cleaned and free from dirt and toner.. and the common problem is the eject roller...they are located at the top of the printer, the long black roller with few hard rubber roller.. once this roller is harden, it will give paper jam problem..and the paper will crumble each time you print....especially when the printer have printed many pages... you will need to send it to the tech to replace the eject roller.

Printed fine then started to crumble paper like

Hello there
You may not see a paper jam.

This may work for you, it has worked for many here I given this advice so gave it a try it could work for you. Generally when this happens, something has fallen into the printer, or a piece of paper has been jammed in there.

First step, remove the ink cartridge, and turn the printer upside down and gently shake it, see if anything comes out.

If nothing goes, or you can't hear anything rattling around, get a piece of cardstock paper (60lb or heavier) and gently push this through the printer, to see if it will help push out what might be stuck in there.

And gave the rode that the ink slides on a good clean and maybe a bit oil on cloth and wipe the rod with it.

Please come back and just gave a vote, it will gave me some satisfaction to know am helping some one so I will keep on helping.

First, the printer wouldn't "pick up" the paper to print, now it did, but it is really jammed and I don't see a way to remove the jam. The printer part that moves side to side is directly in the middle...

with the power on, slowly move the carriage out of the way. then remove the paper jam. Afterwards, take a damp cloth and rub the rollers clean. you may use a little bit of alcohol on the cloth.

Paper is being pulled in on the right side and getting crumbled

1. Turn the printer off and open the access cover.
2. Look for any obstructions in the paper path and remove them if necessary. (It is possible to move the carrier assembly with the power off.)
3. Turn the printer on, load some paper, and press the Form Feed button.
4. Watch the paper as it feeds through and try to determine where the jam is occurring.
5. Check to see if all the rollers are turning.

If all the rollers are turning, there may be something in the feed path that you can't see. Go to step 6.
If not, there is probably a feed motor or a gear problem and the printer may require service.
6. If the paper is jamming under the carrier assembly, you may be able to fix it using the manual feed slot.
7. Turn the printer off.
8. Take a #10 envelope and feed it through the left side of the manual feed slot until it comes right through the printer to the back of the exit rollers.
9. Move it up and down first, and then slowly move it over to the right side. If something is stuck under the black guide plate, this may work it loose.

Carriage Paper Jam in Photosmart hp c6180 all-in-one-printer

Here's what you do. Take a look at the photo below.
Open the cover of the printer, where the ink cartridges are located. Behind the ink cartridges is the carriage, which is a box that moves side-to-side on a pair of rails. It's the thing that sprays the ink onto the paper.

You have to reach in with your hand and slide this thing to the center. Then, look to the very sides, left and right, for any bits of paper. If you look at the second picture, you can see my finger pointing to a small bit of paper that tore of and got jammed into the side. See the little crumpled bit of paper? It's preventing the carriage from sliding all the way to the right. You could have little bits on the right or left side. I had to reach in with needle-nose pliers to grab the paper bits out, but maybe your fingers are small enough.

Once the little bits of paper were out, I was back in business. Good luck!

Paper jam

If it crumbles just before the exit, then the problem is with the fuser unit, there are 4-6 claws/teeth/scrapers that are supposed to help guide the paper out, when they wear out the catch the paper and turn them into accordions. Replace the claws, and check the heat rollers.

Different kind of paper jam....

Hello I have an x6170 when I go to print the paper is going in side ways, crumbling the paper. I did not do anything different from before. I tried taking it apart but I do not see any screws or if it is just snap in I would like to see the assembly manual so I can open it...maybe fixing it.
