SOURCE: audio from tv is not restored by turning off power on headphones

It sounds as if you are plugging the base into a standard headphone jack located on the Television set.

RCA Headphone jacks (incl mini) automatically stop the sound output to the main speakers on almost every set I have seen.. or home stereo.. etc etc

In other words you can take a standard RCA jack.. with nothing connected to it.. plug it in while the music or sound is coming out the main speaker.. and it will cut off the output to those speakers..

If you set has audio outputs on the back.. preferably Fixed Audio Out .. you will need to connect your base unit to those.. turn your set volume to 0 and adjust the headset volume using the control on the right ear-cup.

If you have variable audio out.. you will need to go into your TV sets setup menu.. turn off the speaker.. and turn up the set until you achieve a signal and decent volume through the headset.

If you are missing these connections.. your current “work around” is your only solution.

Best of luck

SOURCE: i am attempting to use my sennheiser rs 110

What are you plugging your 2 RCA connectors (from the headphones) into on the television?
You are correct, usually:
White = Left Red = Right

In this case
Black = Left Red = Right
Not sure....guess some manufacturers need to be different...
Back to the issue,
You to need to connect the Black to White and Red to Red to the TV BUT you need to make sure you are connecting to an OUTPUT and not to an INPUT on the TV. Most newer TV's do have an "audio out RCA jacks" on the TV but not all. It should be labeled at the connector if it is an output, or just another input. You can always consult the TV manual to be sure.

Few things you can do to test

  • Does your TV have a "headphone jack", use the adapter (2 RCA female - 3.5mm connector) to plug into the headphone jack and see if there is sound
  • Connect the Black and Red RCAs from the headphones directly to the another output, like a DVD player, CD Player etc....

I hope this helps,
Magoo

Headphones Panasonic

if these are older headphones it's likely that the batteries have gone bad or are defective, if this is a new unit, (aside from returning it for working one) it could still be the batteries, but the other likely issue is the charging unit is defective. you could test with a volt meter to see if it's getting juice. you could also have a short in the headphones somewhere.

My wireless headphones no reception

Check the batteries in the head phones, check to see if they are switched to the samechannel that your transmitter is on. In many of the wireless headphones there are 3 or more channels that you can switch to in case your neighbor has the same unit.

The sound keeps breaking up the green light goes out and there is a terrible hissing sound

I know this is a bit late but i had the same issues with my unit. turns out if you listen with the source volume really low the headphones cant detect sound so they shut off. you fix this by simply adding more volume from the source and then just decrease volume on the actual headphones to obtain desired listening level and say goodbye to this issue.

Unable to listen to my wireless

They need a minimum level of signal to switch on the transmitter.
Verify if it works on yet another system.
Make sure you have the right output on your Samsung.
Try to increase the output level of your Samsung...(up the volume, but it may be a fixed output..)
