It might have been caused due to some problem in internet explorer 7(IE7)
Try to uninstall IE7. You can use the following
method if it does not show up in add/remove programs.

Uninstall Internet Explorer 7
To uninstall Internet Explorer 7, follow these steps:

In the Open box, type %windir%\ie7\spuninst\spuninst.exe, and then click OK.
Follow the wizard instructions to uninstall Internet Explorer 7.
