Lee, i had the same problem i think. does the camera turn itself off after 10 seconds or so?? if so you have to check the ribbons on the bottom of camera. there are 5 screws on bottom of camera 2 on the side 1 on the bottom right of the lcd sreen. after all the screws are off check all the connection to the camera, ribbons might have come out a tiny little bit just push them back in make sure you do all of them. doing this fixed my problem hope it helps you. jeff

I have a canon EOS 400D. a few days ago i dropped the camera. not far, maybe a few inches onto a carpeted floor. ever since then the lcd screen will stay on for a about a second then will go blank then...

A camera is a very complex device so any internal damage would need a proper repair, it may only be a disturbed internal problem but with fiddly screws and the need to keep dust free a good repair place is needed.
As for you just check and refit any items you can like a card or battery etc, if new and bought with a credit card there may be an insurance on it or you can call on or contents policy maybe, as there are lots of policies on new items for a short time in respect of damage claims.
If a cheap cost to purchase and not worth the cost of repair then auction on ebay to recover some money.

Sorry, hope that helps you decide..........

My 50 inch panasonic lcd projection keeps going to a black screen then after a few seconds the picture comes back. The green light stays on but is flashing during this time. I have replaced the bulb twice...

check to insure that your input signal is clean,(clean picture) most modern TV`s blank the video if it is deemed of poor quality, also if you are using a VCR and are viewing pirate copy tapes the VCR will output a varying video level output signal to deter pirating of movies, using a video stabilizer between your VCR and your video input may solve this problem for you, check with your user manual as to the light flashing condition in the diagnostic section this will indicate the fault you are experiencing good luck

Blank LCD screen on shooting mode, but does show settings. Will not take pictures. Replaying mode works, shows pictures taken before screen went blank. New batteries. What is going on??? Is it...

The Display button manually turns the LCD display on or off to save batteries. If you accidentally had turned the LCD off, It should only take one press of the button to turn it back on and leave it that way. As such, it's not you but the camera. The A570 IS is relatively new. Your camera is likely still under warranty. If so, contact Canon for warranty repair (see the following link):

Red power light flashes twice and unit will not record. I will not play a tape, none of the tape keys work (rewind, fordward, or pause, etc). I do get a picture in both the vcr and camera mode but the tape...

1. Take out the tape - AND TURN THE CAMERA POWER ON
2. press the menu button (near the viewfinder)
3. Use he wheel on top next to the viewfinderto scroll through the choices
4. Choose "display setup" by pushing the wheel in
5. Choose "C. Rest" by pushing the wheel in
6. Turn camera off
7. Next time you turn camera on y ou should be able to view tapes and record.
IT DID NOT WORK THE FISRT TIME SO I PUT MY FINGER IN TO TRY TO GENTLY PUSH BUTTON WHEN I TOOK THE TAPE OFF AND THEN TRIED SOLUTION ABOVE AGAIN, AND THIS TIME, IT WORKED. BUT PLEASE DONT INSERT YOUR FINGERS IN AS I DID TRY THE SOLUTION 2 OR THREE TIME IT SHOULD BE OK, HOPE THIS WORKS FOR YOU,

Canon CCD GL1

Hey hill,
This happened to me one time. Judging from the date of this, you probably have found a solution. The bottom line is that the camera has accidentally been placed in "Standby" mode. It is the lever surrounding the back of camera record button. When this is moved to standby, the VCR mode works, but nothing for the Camera mode. Hope this helps.
