Looks like the OS is corrupt. You may want to try doing a repair reinstall using the OS CD. What is the version of windows you are using? (XP, Vista, 7)

Sound driver of windows xp corrupted

Hello,
You have to reinstall the audio driver since you say the driver in your OS is corrupted. That is the reason for your OS not detecting the audio device. You will have your driver;s CD with you which you would have got when you bought the laptop. If you dont have your driver;s CD, then you can download the neccessary driver in your laptop company's website.

Unfortunately you'll need that CD to fix the issue, the only alternative is a lengthy process through the command prompt, which isn't even a guarantee. The reason you need the CD is so that you can restore your boot files with a fresh copy, as yours have become corrupted. Replacing the corrupted files is the only option.

Microsoft Window XP

Your problem is in the virtual basic script. That is the language that Windows has supported since Win 98 came out. It is most helpful on internet explorer. Somehow your boot file has been corrupted. There is a way to edit this in your registry through Regedit, but you need to be very familiar with the Registry before attempting that alone. I recommend finding a virus protection software package to help you debug your computer.
