SOURCE: Put wrong power adapter into a Yamaha DTXPRESS IV

You should immediately quarantine what you plugged in and compare it to the correct one.

IF you put too low aq voltage of the CORRECT polarity nothing should have happened.

If you put backwards polarity of any voltage the regulator is probably fried internally and possibly an input bypass cap. Also if you put an AC adapter and it wants a DC the same destruction could happen.

if you put too high a voltage, possibly the power input cap may be bad.

It appears that the correct supply is the PA3C which is a 12 volt, 700ma with positive on the center pin.

Does it have the option to load other sounds in it?

Here is the manual if you don't have it:http://www2.yamaha.co.jp/manual/pdf/emi/english/ssdrums/dtxp4_en_om_d0.pdf The set comes with 427 drum/percussion voices and 22 keyboard voices. If you use a midi cable plugged into the midi out on the sound module you can control other midi sound modules and midi devices by plugging into the midi in on them. Page 30 of the manual describes some of the parameters. If this helps please let me know.

Recorded midi, output set to dtxpress channel 10 no sounds is gen

You have to discover the receive channel for the dtxpress. Try downloading Midiox which is a freeware app that actively displays everything that is happening midiwise in real time.

Problems with DTXpress III special bass drum pad

If you are comfortable with working on it and the warrantee is up try taking the pad apart to see if the piezo element has come loose from its mounting or if the solder joint is loose. If that isn't the problem save your settings and initialize the set according to the instructions in your manual.

I want to connect my YAMAHA DTXPRESS IV SPECIAL to my PC

Any pro-audio interface with a midi input would do the trick. There are numerous products out there that offer this. You can get a simple usb midi interface, and connect the Yamaha up with a midi cable running from the midi out of the drum module to the nidi in of the interface.

one of the simpler ones:...

Add more paths to the drum kit

A line splitter I would asume. Some people just by two brains or more and make a really huge set. I would recomend just buying to brains, alot easyer and more options to chose from.
