I have the SONY BRAVIA KDL-40s4100 and it has been working great since I bought it 5 month ago. This past weekend I turned the TV on and the Power Light came on but the screen never appeared. I did the factory reset and still no picture and sound or any screen appears despite the power being on. Does anyone have any suggestions or ideas of what is wrong. - The Standby Light does not seem to blinking at all actually, it is lit up. And no there is no sound.
This is a common problem with these sets and NOT an easy one to fix.
You may have a bad CFL lamp which is located under the LCD screen.I have fixed quite a few of these,its not easy fix but not impossibe.

Please check whether the connections are secured between the TV and the connected devices.
If the television is plugged into a power strip or surge protector, remove it from the power strip or surge protector and plug it directly into the wall outlet. If the issue is resolved, the problem is with the power strip or surge protector and not the television.
Try connecting the TV to a different wall outlet and check if that helps.
Please connect a different device to the TV and check whether the issue persists.
If the issue still persists service of the TV is determined.
