SOURCE: How do i hook up my new behringer pmp 5000 mixer

Passive loudspeakers are connected to the two "Speakon" connectors on the back of the unit. BUY GOOD cables for your speakers!!!! Whatever you do don't have a speaker line come loose while driving audio out !!! You will arc- out the rear-most power amp... I know, I repaired two of these now with the problem.

Connect the recording device to either the "tape OUT" RCA jacks or either of the pairs of MAIN out TRS jacks.

Set the slide switch for the MAIN L/MAIN R (upper position) leave this in this position unless you understand what the other positions are for to avoid damage. You will NOT need the other positions.

Further: Power ALL interconnect devices from the SAME receptacle source to avoid ground loops and possible damage.

YOUR passive speakers should be rated at least 300 Watts RMS continuos power handling or 600 Watts peaks.

Drive consumer stereo speakers with this and you will smoke the speakers and MAYBE blow the amp. This is a powerful amplifier and if you don't have at least 15 inch speakers you MUST really hold down the volume lest you blow the speakers.

Above all read the manual... yes, it is a bit hard to understand...

If you have a problem you can contact me by email for a bit of help. I have wo of these I have been using at venues now.

Testimonial: "Thank you fredy2. im very grateful. Wish i had know about this site before i purchased some of my gear. I will follow these recommendations. THANKS,"

SOURCE: my behringer pmp 3000 has litle power i thing is

The unit should drive 400 Watts RMS into a 4 ohm load per side.

The amount of sound power you get will VASTLY depend on speaker efficiency. You would likely use at least 15 inch speakers with the unit.

SOURCE: I have a Behringer PMP

Bridge mode you use chan B (left connector on the back) using a SPECIALLY wired Speakon. The impedance of a speaker connected as such CANNOT be LESS than 8 ohms.

In the Main/Mon mode, the two amplifiers are separated in function. The monitor knobs for EACH channel input control the mix sent to Channel A which is for the monitor speakers. The Mon1 controls the level sent to Output A for the monitor speakers. Mon2 fader is NOT used.

The individual channel faders control the main mix and the Main fader controls the level sent to Output B which goes to the main speakers.

My speaker processing button not working which makes one of my speaker not work, can this be repaired.behringer Europower pmp 6000

Yes, most anything can be fixed. However, Beheinger is deadly slow shipping parts to repair shops, should it need a Behringer-specific part.

Our Behringer pmp 6000 just recently mysteriously lost both monitor 1 & 2 signals. Please provide some suggested resolutions? Is there anything other then the channel monitor level knobs and the main...

Try plugging in a set of headphones into each of the mon left and right. If the monitor sliders are up AND the channel monitor knobs are up you should be able to hear in ONE SIDE only of the headphones. If not, then you may have failed to power your monitor amp or speakers from the SAME receptacle as the mixer and this can result in ground bouncein building wiring that will blow out the driver chips for the mon signals.

My pmp froze, tried to reset it but now it wouldn't power up

Your PMP what? Is this a Behringer?... and if so what model?... If it won't power up, for goodness sakes do NOT replace a blown fuse as additional damage usually results. Get it serviced... if under warranty, then exercise the warranty. If it is a BEhringer, then also read my tip on Fixya tips regarding PMP mixers and a hazard of using 1/4 inch plug speaker cables or adapters.

I have a pmp 3000 and a pmp 6000. what is the best wast to run out of the boards to the speakers? and is it better to run in mono?

No preference, just use mode that fits your venue. As far as system safety I would run in Stereo A/B rather than bridged mode.

Now please read my tip about PMP units on Fixya regarding a hazard if you convert the Speakon outputs at some point to 1/4 inch plugs. If you do this, please note that the SLEEVE, not the tip on channel A is HOT to ground and shorting this to ground will often fry channel A. Channel "B" the tip is the hot speaker lead. Thsi is done by Behringer to facilitate switching to bridged mode.

What is the best powered mixer to go with my b215xl 1000watt speakers

The PMP 6000 or 4000 depending on how many channels and effects you need is a good match.

READ THE SPECS... the speakers are capable of 250 Watts RMS (not 1000 as that is PEAK) power... like the ridiculous claims of 4 Hp for shop vacuums that run on 120 volts.

The 4000 and 6000 will generate about 250 Watts per side into 8 ohm speakers so is well matched for the B215XL speakers... by matched we mean the speakers are not likely to get blown out.

Connect a 500 Watt per side amp to the speakers and you will be buying replacements in short order.

ALSO realize how much sound you will get from the speakers.. they will cover a 2000 square foot venue fairly well. I suggest you get a sound level meter so you have a metric of levels when you are using the system. If you need more sound, you can add a second set of the speakers in parallel.

Can i hook up a seperate power amp . to the pmp 6000 powerd mixer . for more over all power.

You can add extra amps driving ADDITIONAL speakers... you CANNOT parallel amps driving the same speakers.

Drive these seperate amps from the MAINS OUT connnectors using TRS and balanced lines to those external amps.
