Look inside where the Battery terminals connect.
THey are flat metal springs inside the drills Battery hole.
Make sure the are not compressed down causing them not to touch the battery terminals of the battery.
ALso check the Brushes on the drills motor they may need replacing...
Hi, The only way to tell if you can fix it is to take the drill apart... Look for two wires melted together...my guess is that they got too hot and melted together inside the drill... separate and insulate and you should be fine...
If you have the handle disigned for the lithium battery becareful using the 9096 battery as it moves in the handle a lot and can hit the terminal on the switch wrong and bend it or break it. Also it will get a lot of vibration when running and because it doen't have the support that it needs for a 9096 it wiill likely brak a contact on the switch eventually. the factory does say they work in any tool however.
If the battery is one year old, it is shot. I have about 20 batteries under the bench and about 5 cordless drills , saws, lights, you name it , I won't buy anymore. I have a bunch of them, the batteries don't last. It is cheaper to buy a new kit with new batteries than to replace the batteries. No more.
You are ok with what you got. The cordless saws take a lot of power to cut wood so it drains the battery fast. I have the ridged setup and my battery on a full charge only gets 4 cuts on a 2x4 befor it is dead. The saws will not give you any worning becauase the teath of the blade will get stuck in the wood so it just will not slow down like the drill will. I hope this helps with your ?
